(I set myself up for this one, didn't I?)

Am I the only one that is having trouble reading some of the "colored" print on here?

Bandara Ya Ya's pink is readable and so is the poster (sorry, can't remember who it is) who types in red.....

...but the purples, maroons....I am just struggling to read it....and I have UNCORRECTED 20/20 vision!!

Just wondering if anybody else was going crosseyed?http://kit.netpoets.net/dizzy.gif

no comment on the old thing...but the darker type is more difficult to see...sometimes, i turn off half of the lights in the room so i can read it better...

I can't see the purple and maroon very well either. But I can still read it. So while my eyes may be failing me, my mind is still as sharp as a bowling ball.:)

I have an easier time at home...but I have two flourescent lights right above me in the office.

My boss's are real lenient about me always being on this board, but I think they would put their foot down if I started working in the dark!!

RM & 3afan - neither one of you is old. You're roughly, give or take, my age and I know I'm not old. :D

3Afan's sons have referred to me as "ancient" on several occasions!!

But what do they know??....at the meet and greet at Inks Lake, they got on the subject of how old their dad was.....one child thought he was 4 years older than the other one did.

Red is hard for me to read. CHS Grad 85's (example) is always hard to see.

Some older monitors have a hard time reproducing the darker colors too. That's why my sig is in crimson instead of burgandy.

RM, there's your "out". It's not you or the lighting - it's your equipment! Since you mainly have this problem at work, I would insist on getting an upgrade, if I were you. ;)

I don't even try to read any of the posts with reddish-tinted text (including pink, purple, etc.). I'm color blind and it's just too difficult to make out the words. (For any who don't know, color blindness doesn't mean you see in black and white, just that you see colors differently than most people and either can't distinguish between some shades or have a very hard time doing so.)

Too bad. My dad is color blind also.....has trouble with green and red....riding in a car when he's driving is taking your life in your hands !!

Since you quoted me, I decided to put forth the effort to read your post. I don't know what your "too bad" means. If it means "too bad you can't easily read my 'calling attention to myself' text," it's not too bad. If that's your attitude, I'll enjoy this place more by not reading what you write. If, on the other hand, you mean "too bad you're color blind, it must be a problem," it's not any more of an inconvenience than being left-handed or taller or shorter than most people. Your father has the same sort of color vision I do and it doesn't cause me any trouble with driving. The red lights on traffic signals are at the top or the left. It's sometimes a little difficult to tell whether a flashing light is red or yellow, but if I'm ever unsure, I just assume it's red until I figure it out for sure.

I didn't realize that the colors were hard to read... I usually don't have a problem with the colors... but my mom is color blind so I can fully understand... I had picked orange-red cos it looked burnt orange to me...

Ranger Mom
09-29-2004, 04:22 PM
I thought since nobody had ever said anything, it must just be me!

I still read everything, but I have to strain to read some of the colors.

In chatrooms, 3Afan2k3 always writes in white and I have no option but to use a white background...it drives me nuts!!

i would think if he's writing in white, then you'd be forced to use a dark background ... not white

Ranger Mom

Okay...let me spell this out.

I have NO option but to use a white background...I can't change it.

Kyle writes in white...I HAVE to use a white background.

Not I have to use a white background because he writes in white.

I have to use a white background because I don't have the option of changing it!

3afan
09-29-2004, 04:34 PM
thats wierd - not having the option to change ..... i'll get him to go 'normal' or he's grounded

oh, and i emailed you the roster for our next game v. Terrell - some of my best work yet !!!!!

and i'm about to hit 2K posts - cool

I think it's because I am on AOL...if I clicked over to aim, I would have that option...I think! I just have to write "Kyle Color" and it miraculously turns to green (usually)!

I got the roster, it looks great. Mine isn't nearly as fancy, but what's the use if it's just gonna be copied in black and white anyway??

I'm fixing to send you the one I did...don't laugh..I am an amateur!
