What does Silsbee look like in the 3A realm of things? The other two teams that I am familiar with who came down from 4a are Jasper and WOS and they are tough! Is Silsbee in the same catagory as these two?

I don't think they are quite as good as WO-S or Jasper, but they are pretty good this year.

What is their record? Who have they played?

Silsbee has a lot to prove after going winless last year. They are playing some good football as of now. I think they could put up a fight with these two, but both WOS and Jasper would win.

I believe they are 3-0 but not sure who they have played. The Cardinals have another tough one this Friday it seems. And it's homecoming at that!

yeah as far as I know, Silsbee is 3-0, but like you said, I have no idea who they have played so far. If anyone knows, share the wealth.

08/27/2004 Liberty (23-3A) won: 30-18
09/03/2004 @ Livingston (18-4A) won: 35-30
09/10/2004 @ Sour Lake Hardin-Jefferson (24-3A) won: 40-19

PPHSfan correctly gave you Silbee's first 3 games. Silsbee was scheduled to play Cleveland last Friday but Ivan rudely intervened.

I hope we are all healed up and ready to go at them and give em a good game! Jasper hopefully woke the Cardinals up and they will come out fired up!

Silsbee has BC next.

Yep,we play Silsbee Friday night. According to scouting reports, Silsbee has a 6'4" wide receiver with a vertical reach that is outta this world. BC will have to shut this connection down.

I can't see BC not winning this handily. I am going, so guess I will know soon enough.

Yep I'm Going to BC also due to BH Vs. Bye we always win that game anyway:D I think BC will win this one , but it won't be a blow out. I see a close game between two good 3A Clubs. Hey Cardinal fans since its Home coming and all how early should I get there to find a seat?

Noonish sounds about right since we have one of the strongest following crowds in the area!! :D

IMO Silsbee is winning because of the drop down to 3A. I am not saying that 3A is any less harder than 4A, just saying that confidence is their key to this season. I guess we will see this weekend. I will prolly be there since we are on a bye. I also live about three blocks from the stadium. The only thing i dont like is that I cant see the score board from the road.

I think it will be a good one but I am taking Silsbee by a touchdown.

Well, i don't know much about the teams they have played thus far, so could anyone tll me more about them, how good are they? I know Livingston was nothing two years ago when we were in 4A, don't know if they have changed though. This week might be the first real test Silsbee has. Will be fun to watch.

I think the local newspaper sportswriters will give the nod to Silsbee on the predictions. Silsbee is in the same position as BC was when they came out of a tough 4A District with a 0-10 record and promptly went two rounds in the playoffs. Everyone expects Silsbee to make the playoffs in their district run.
Bridge City played a dominating team in Jasper last Friday. The only bright spot was that they made 6 first downs and 143 yards in the first half against the Bulldog starters, which is not bad against maybe the best defense in 3A. I think that BC has found that Sophomore QB John Dishon with 62 yards on 8 carries is the only one on the team with enough speed and quickness to QB against the likes of the Jasper Bulldogs. I understand that our passing QB Broc Hayman will have an operation on his arm next week for a torn muscle. He will not be back even to play basketball; hopefully he will be able to pitch baseballs come this spring.

That's too bad about Haymen. Hopefully he'll have an exceptionally speedy recovery from surgery! Hate to hear anyone getting hurt, especially an injury that is severe enough to put a player out for the season!

I am going to have to go with Silsbee in this one by 10 or more.

I'll take Silsbee by 7. They've still got a lot to prove, but so do the Cardinals. Should be a good game.

I have to go with my Cards on this one at home. It will be a close game regardless I think. The last two times BC & Silsbee met were in 2000 when Silbee won over BC 7-6. And then again in 2001 Bc won over Silsbee 14-3. Those games seem to always be close ones. The game is to be webcast on kogt.com if you want to listen to it.

Well, I'm gonna take BC by 10. I don't think Silsbee has had any real competition yet this year. If BC can get out to an early lead, I think they will hold on to it. I just don't think Silsbee has it in them.

I really think this will be a close and good game.I still think I am going to go with Silsbee though. They are pretty ticked off after an 0-10 season.

Having seen both of these teams play I would have to give the nod to Silsbee by 14. Silsbee has lots of speed and that receiver they have is something special. Plus their offensive line is really awesome.

PARKING may be the bigger challenge! I'll be parking cars in the visitors lot (at the scoreboard or west end of the field). If you park down there, look me up. pm me for details.

Oh, yeah....seating is sold as assigned only on the HOME side - no SRO's or Gen Ads, so if there are any seats left, you'll get one. Might want to arrive around 6:45 to 7:00.

No Doubt! Those were two very bad teams! BC was as bad as I have seen and poor Silsbee was capable, but made lots of mistakes. Could not protect the ball, way too many penalties. Overrated region!
