If Texas and Arkansas were still in the same conference....and have been all of our lives.....would that game be a bigger rivalry than Texas vs. A&M at this time do yall think?? b/c just from the past 2 years the Tension between Ark. and Texas is HUGE!

I would have to say not as big a rivalry but pretty darn close...

I think the Aggies take the rivalry with Texas a lot more serious than the other way around.

I don't think there are any gig em stickers inside the urinals at UT. But I know for a fact that there are Bevo stickers at the bottom of several urinals at college station. And I am sure none of the Aggies will deny it.

Texas vs Arkansas was a big rivalry when the two teams were in the southwest conference.

A very big rivalry.

Phil,

Remember how SMU was such a power in the late 70's early 80's?

CHS--are you going to UT after you graduate?

The bottom line is this--if you were to have seen Fayettenam and the entire State of Arkansas as I, KTJ, witnessed when we went up there to play them a few weeks ago, you would have thought UT was about to go to war.

If Arkie wouldn't have jumped ship and headed to the SEC and stayed and became apart of the Big 12, the hell that would have broken loose when UT/Arkie played would be unbelievable.

So the answer to your question is - a solid "most likely".

Trivia Question here (hey, it's a slow morning)

What former Cuero Gobbler played for SMU in the mid 70's and went on to play in the NFL?

Got me there 44. I know that there were several Cuero players who played at SMU at that time but unfortunately I can't remember the name. ;)

Henry Sheppard, he graduated in 1971 I believe. Arthur Whittington graduated from CHS in 1974 and went on to play with SMU then the Oakland Raiders.
