I'd say Sinton looked like a top ten team. I'm still surprised they didn't drop out of that top ranking. Cuero is a great team and won't lose the no. 1 spot without a shocking loss in district.
Go Gonzales!;)

Palestine beat Tatum, yet Tatum received more votes than they did last week.

Cuero is a good team

Gilmer breaks into the Top 10 at last.

The game of the week in 3A is this Friday night at Buckeye Stadium. First home game for the 5-0 Buckeyes against No. 13 3-1 Daingerfield.

What a rivalry these two neighboring towns have had over the years. Daingerfield no doubt has a huge lead in the overall series, but the Buckeyes will have an SRO crowd on hand to root for our team. It ought to be one helluva game.

wouldn't a rematch w/ Gilmer & Cameron be sweet? Any chance of that happening??

The Tigers will be a good test for Gilmer.

not so fast my friend...the REAL game of the week is Wylie @ Decatur...gonna be a fun one, ESPECIALLY if Wylie can control the clock with the trademark Sandifer "patient offense."

I think that Abilene Wylie should be in the Top 10. They have beaten Vernon and Graham these past two weeks. Wylie is a very good team, and I think that if they are able to pull an upset off against No. 2 Decatur then Wylie should definitely be moved to within the top 6.

Wow Wimberley got a vote! Flattering, but not going to happen.

Gilmer and Daingerfield both run the spread. This will be an offensive shootout. I'd still rather see this game than Decatur-Wylie, even if I were not a Buckeye fan.

Let's just say it will be the biggest game east of I-35.

As for a rematch with Cameron, it depends on which division Cameron goes into. Gilmer will be a "small school" unless Gladewater completely collapses. If Cameron is also in Div II, I think both teams would have to make it all the way to the final round before there would be a rematch. I am assuming Cameron is in the same region as Marlin.

Mike Mullins came to Cameron from Gilmer and I am thrilled to see he has turned that program around. He is a really good guy.

I don't blame these guys for having trouble ranking 3A teams this year. It maybe like this all the time, I don't know since this is my first year, but it seems to me that it has been wild and wooly so far and the "perceived" top teams have been very unpredictable. What is it, 3 number 1 teams have been beat in the first 5 weeks, teams giving up 50 and 60 points then turning around and pitching shut outs.... crazy!!!

Well, you can see my thread as to how I feel about this weeks poll. But as they say "it's not where your ranked at the first of the season that matters but at the end of the season".
