How is it that Lubbock Cooper occupies the 5th and 7th spot? Are they better and worse than Iowa Park at the same time?
Just kidding (an oversight I'm sure)

P.S. Does this mean Sweetwater moves up to #7?

Yeah, Right! The varsity just barely pulled out a squeeker against Sweetwater. You might need to be careful who or what you listen to (might lead you astray).

Barbers Hill should be #1 in region 3, and W.C. should not be behind sinton

Thanks for straightening me out. For some reason, I thought their JV was in the #5 spot and Varsity in #7. :D

For a district that wasn't expected to be especially strong in the pre-season, they now have 3 in the regional top 10 (Kennedale, Wilmer-Hutchins, Dallas Madison)? That's a pretty big turn-around.

I think it has alot to do with Region 2 being weak this year.. they lost their 2 tops teams from last year in Gainesville and Forney..

there is also no Celina and Commerce and Atlanta have both fell off as well

I think he MEANT to put Clyde in instead of Lubbock Cooper...maybe he could slide Breckenridge in there somewhere!

I'm not really for aransas pass but, why are they #8 if they are 5-0? is it because they are playing no good teams or something? just wanting to know.:p :p

No love for BH :( Matt, if the number #9 team in Region three (BH)beat the #4 team in Region 4(WC) then you must think Region four is terrible. BH deserves a 3 Spot in region 3. atleat top five. Your BH bias is killing me. I know we haven't done well in the playoffs , but this years team is good.

Region 2 is much stronger than Region 1 this year. If you truly believe that Region 2 is weak, check back with me at play-off time. Keep an eye on Gilmer.

I guess you haven't seen Sinton play? I haven't seen WC play either so I cannot say that it is true or false (the ranking)...

They're not exactly playing tough teams...

#8 really isn't that bad... You have to think, there are 8 districts in Region 4, atLEAST 5 teams in each district... that is atLEAST 40 teams in Region 4... why is number 8 out of 40 THAT bad?

just wanting to know :D

The only way Clyde makes the top ten would have to be on a 2A poll.

dogdad,

I don't think Keith meant that Region 1 was stronger than Region 2 this year. I think he was pointing out, and I tend to agree, that Region 2 is not as strong as Region 2 was last year. I am also pretty sure that district 9 is nowhere near as tough as last year, however, I think RC has a great chance to win it.

Didn't Cameron get some love in the Cal-Preps polls?

heh...as much as you guys dog that cal preps site....check out their predictions as opposed to actual scores. For the most part, they're pretty dead on within a touchdown. I think they predicted Cameron 42-19? Who the hell thought that and look how close the actual score was. 39-25

Ok I fixed the Region 1 poll.....I don't have a Barbers Hill bias....region 3 is by far the best region in the state......and the teams that are ahead of them are all very very good...

wonder what will happen when Ingleside beats AP...will Ingleside get some recognition, or will AP disappear from the polls...or both?

To RBARKER: In all seriousness at this time I would rank Barbers Hill at #3 behind Jasper and WO-S. I would also rank in the top 10 of the Region--the winner of Silsbee (3-0) and Bridge City (3-1) after the ballgame in Bridge City tonight. BC put up 6 first downs and 143 yards in the first half against a great starting Jasper defense. They finished with 261 yards; that says they will gain a little yardage against anyone in 3A ranks. Silsbee has 8 returning offensive starters and a host of returners on defense. I think it boils down to if BCs Darrell Stevens 6' 3" can defend against Silsbee's WR Desmond Doss 6' 4" who has caught 14 passes for 343 yards and four TDs. He is ranked as one of the areas top receivers. BC will be without Jerron Broussard TE and star SS Jon Landry out with injuries.

Hey OC, is Landry going to be back for the Bayou Bowl next week?

Old Cardinal
10-01-2004, 05:20 PM
I have not heard if Landry is projected to be back for that game. Andrew Havens will quite possibly only see limited playing time tonight. He is hampered by a bad ankle injury. Boy he has done a great job this season for a Junior on the line.

Region I

IP, Sweetwater, and Canyon have to move up. Graham and Gainesville need to come out.
