My vote is for Bellville..They are 1-3. Their 3 loses are to Caldwell, Cameron, and Marlin. They are all Undefeated. Bellville is playing with 5 to 6 sophomores on defense. They are growing stronger and better every week. Come district, it will be a dog fight for the title. I think Navasota will win, but Bellville will come in second. Gotta watch out for the Raiders and the Tigers. Look out come playoff time (Gosh, I hope I don't have to eat my words)!!!

Bellville....they're a few plays away from being a much better team... and in a year or so this group will be as good if not better than the Brahmas of past.

I don't know if they qualify as much of a sleeper.... but I think Canyon and Iowa Park are both good teams out of Region I that aren't getting much publicity right now.

I agree that Canton is a sleeper. They are a fairly young team with a talented sophomore quarterback. The most points they have given up in a game is 14.

I agree with VWG:

Both Canyon and Iowa Park are going to sneak up on some folks. That is unless they keep winning and get noticed earlier.

BTW, I saw Iowa Park play tonight. They are a good team.

Bellville could have a little sleeper in them. While they're not near the level of last years team, this team is starting to figure some things out. The three teams the Brahmas have opened with this year (Caldwell, Cameron, Marlin) are probably better than the first three teams Bellville met in the playoffs last year (Giddings, Huffman, China Spring). All 3 are undefeated.

Bellville didn't play their best ball, and soundly defeated Yoakum, who beat both Rice and Giddings in previous weeks.

I still see Navasota as the clear favorite in D20, and don't think Bellville can go into the Snakepit and get another win. Last years team was poised and mature, and weren't at all bothered by the "Pit" or Navasota hype. They dominated the Rattlers on their home turf. This year's Brahmas are very young, and feed off of emotion. It will be very tough for them to travel to Navasota and defeat an improved Rattler team.

While I don't see anyone beating Nav., I'm beginning to reconsider my prediction of Bellville finishing 4th. Sealy and Rice are solid teams, but certainly haven't shown that they will step up and be a force in D20. The race for 2nd and 3rd could get interested.

Correction, Marlin lost last night to Conally. Which is scary by the way, cause Navasota beat the crud out of Conally. So they have a loss.

Look out for Conally Cadets... Hell of a run game... smashmouth , in your face, type of play. Big and strong O and D lines. I have to add them to the teams to look out for.

my sleeper is definately bridgeport. you may not agree because of their record(0-4) but they have been imporving and will really be able to move the ball. they just need to get their defense squared away and they will be alright. they almost beat a top 5 ranked team, kennedale. loosing by 4, 58-54. this team will definately do some damage come district when they play teams who dont have the tradition and determination that this team has.
