Living this far away, I really want to be able to hear how my dogs are doing. it would help so much to be able to hear it on the internet. I cant get the station this far.

KJAS is considering it but it won't happen until next year. We need big results on this poll to convince Mike Lout that it is really desired! Help pass the word and keep this poll on top for at least the next few days so I can get good results.

Tell Mike that "brush heap" says to flip it on... TOMORROW! :D

Wichita, KS

I can think of three others who would like to see this happen too... from New Caney, Huntsville, and Washington State... I'll let them speak up for themselves, though.

I just cast my vote on the KJAS website, and I can't believe 16% have voted against it??? Must be some 'bozos' that think it shouldn't be???

Thats been the rumor for a while now, so I really don't know if it is true or not. I do know they are having financial problems, or at least they were. They may have corrected that situation now.

It was rather nice...but at least we weren't overlooking them and Baylor next week. The test will be OU of course. Hope this is our year.

I have to admit I am more of an A&M fan, but I am all for Texas teams to do well! I think this could be the year for UT...still a little early for A&M I think....

I’ve lived up here about 4 years…but worked up here many more years than that. I’ve been an avid Bulldog fan for as long as I can remember. Played for the Dogs in Junior High before leaving Jasper. Gene’s first year as the head coach for the Dogs…after RE Davis’ tenure there. My coaches…Herbert Olsen, Milton Brack & Clifton Williams. I had a lot of respect for Coach Olsen. Hated to hear of his passing. He will be missed.

…my fondest memory is when I was there in the stands (in 1976) and witnessed David Scott’s 108 yard punt return against our (at the time) heated rivalry with Silsbee…

dawgmom
09-26-2004, 03:28 PM
That rivalry with Silsbee will be renewed Nov 5 at our last home game of the season, possibly for the district championship.

Mine too! :) I was standing by the end zone on the visitors side. That was before all the fences and when you could just wander wherever you wanted. I was thinking what ARE YOU DOING, as David stood there in the end zone holding the ball while the Silsbee players approached rapidly. Reportedly the Jasper coaches were yelling to take a knee. Suddenly off David went for the TD. I don't think any Silsbee player even touched him. :) What a play! I think it is still the state record for a punt return?? It would be hard to improve on it by much! :D

I would hate to see KTXJ close. That station has so much history. BUT, I want our games ON THE NET!!!! If KTXJ can't or won't put them there, then let KJAS do it! I will even take back all the bad things I have said about KJAS's sport coverage (or lack thereof)! :D

North Texas here. Way to go Dawg Mom for trying to make this happen. Some of the Jasper posters talked about this before the season began. We even e-mailed (and I think some phoned) KJAS and KTXJ. But, we didn't get any favorable responses. I'm glad someone w/ some pull can make this happen!!!!!!:D

KJA is getting a little bit better with sports coverage. They tell when the games are anyways. And then the score once its over. I hope the web cast happens. Huge step for Jasper.

dawgmom...I'll give Mike a 'nudge' too and maybe between the two of us we can convince him to web-cast the game...you know those out of town fans, gotta have their dawg games so they can sleep well at nights...:D
I only know Art Lay at KTXJ, but I'm not sure if he will be able to help much, but I'll mention it to him..
Keep your fingers crossed, guys..;you know Jasper isn't known for it's 'high-tech stuff'..:D
