Manor the same team that Liberty Hill beat?? What the heck?? What does it take to get respect from those people?

They are getting respect... Anyone who is not ranked number 1 is getting respect, because the number 1 team has lost every week.... and they know it ha

Footballgal, looks like more than that. From the earlier poll posted, with the other teams listed, we will remain in the #12 spot. I am in no way disrespecting Marlin, as they do have a very good team, but geez Louise, but it seems we should've moved up to 11. Perryton's in the top 10. (calm down) I said I've already growled once over it - I'm stopping now.

Though the score was 'kinda' close, it was a 'romping'...

I thought LH would win (no joke, voted for 'em slpybear's poll) :D ), but I didn't think they'd flood the scoreboard like that...

I picked LH to beat Manor, but only because Manor had the curse of #1 hanging over their head. But after seeing the score and listening to a few people, I think the better team won the game.

Sinton beats Cuero. The curse lives for another week, and there is a mysterious fire at the AP offices next week before Decatur gets selected.:D

Im telling you, it looked like a basketball game when I got on here this weekend. I thought maybe you were posting WNBA scores. :D But anyways, LH should definately move up.

Gilmer Buckeye

The Gilmer Buckeyes are 4-0, have scored 173 points, allowed 29. The Buckeyes, 13-1 regional finalist last season, are led by three Div I commits: OU-bound QB Manuel Johnson, KState-bound WR/LB Kevin Hollis and Miss. State-bound WR/DB Tay Bowser. We are fast and also pretty deep. There aren't a lot of seniors on the team, just supertalented juniors and sophomores and even a couple of behemoth freshmen.

Our defense has been dominating. The offense, which is usually Gilmer's forte, is actually still basking in the reflected glow of the suffocating defense. Saturday, though, against Paris the offense itself caught fire and piled up 536 yards of total offense in a 62-16 victory.

I don't know what it is about Gilmer. Maybe it's because we are up here in the NE corner of the state. Nobody takes these guys seriously. I would wager that Gilmer right now could blow out up to half of the Top 10 by halftime. Strong words, I know, but this week's omission was the final straw for me.

Every other rating service in the state has Gilmer in the Top 10. Harris has us at No. 4 this week. The AP poll is now more irrelevant than ever in my mind.

Who were Gilmer's opponents?

At some point, where does snyder fall into all this. They are 4-0 and in my opinion very underrated! Week 1 they blew out levelland and in week 2 they shut out estacado, then week 3 they beat lubbock cooper in the 3a game of the week, and once again on week 4 they beat greenwood. Snyder has one of the tougher schedules in west texas, and yea they played like crap this last week vs. greenwood, but they still managed to pull it off with 2 mins left driving 80 yds and scoring on 4th and 13, and then intercepting a last minute pass to seal the win. I don't think you should count these guys out they are anchored by a vicious defense and a relentless offense.

Gilmer has played Longview Pine Tree (48-7); Jefferson (28-0); Lindale (35-6); and Paris (62-16). PT and Paris are 4A schools. I admit that neither is all that talented. All of our games have been on the road.

However, Lindale was ranked No. 4 in the state by these same AP bozos before the season started.

That's why I say Gilmer could probably blow out some of the current Top 10 by halftime. Sportswriters know names of schools and their past reputations, but apparently that's about all they know.

Gilmer and Marlin both seem to be top 5 material. It is strange that Perrryton keeps on making the top 10 when they haven't really shown anything.
