In Gonzales doesn't make the playoffs in 26-3A, Cuero is D1...

Jasper may be D2 if Silsbee makes the playoffs...

Actually Jasper will probably go D2.

Maybe Sinton is DI! Jasper could be DII baring Silsbee makes the playoffs.

What about Gilmer going DI?

That's right, Sinton in D1...

I would be shocked if Silsbee can't make the playoffs in that district. They can beat Kirbyville but even if they don't, they are at least the third best team. But, crazier things have happened.

wow...Wylie beats a good Vernon team and goes from 14th to not even getting any votes...that is messed up!

Besides, it's the AP's poll & they can call 'em like they see 'em. Just my $.02. :p

lol - I deserved that, I guess. ;)

Gilmer has only 629 students. Gladewater has 632. District 13-3A is so weak that Gladewater, even though they are now 1-3, would have to literally forfeit a game or two to miss the playoffs.

The AP poll, as I have already pointed out on another thread, is far and away the most meaningless and inaccurate one out there. The sportswriters apparently have not seen most of the teams they are ranking. They are ranking familiar names without respect to actual quality.

Harris Ratings has Gilmer at No. 4. AP has now dropped us three notches from No. 12 to No. 15 after we beat a 4A team 62-16 on Saturday. They have now moved Longview Spring Hill ahead of us at No. 14, a team Gilmer dominated in a scrimmage on Aug. 21.
