I was wondering who the fastest guy in 3A is. If you think you know who it is tell us and give 40 time. Since we have no speed here in the small town of Clyde I will have to draw a blank on this. I do know the running back from Brady was pretty fast though.

Yeah, if any K-ville fan's know, how fast is Quincy Cotton? I couldn't believe what I saw a few weeks back when he chased that kid from CC down on that fumble return.

I think there may be a chance that Jon Landry of Bridge City may be the fastest fellow in a uniform this year. Most people know Jon as the guy that worked with Michael Gauthier in his training last year to win the 100 m State Championship. Michael could always slightly edge Jon in a track setting, while Jon could beat him in a football uniform. Jon is a third year letterman in football. He was poked in the eye two times in a scrimmage against Splendora and had to have an eye operation for torn eye muscles. He is a tough kid that even finished the scrimmage that day of the injury. He is doing a good job at Strong Safety till his injury is behind him and then I would suspect that he will aid in carrying the ball later on..

sweetwater has jeremy thompson and michael williams, who are definitely some of the fastest players in this area, hen there are a coupleof soph. playing for varsity who are just as fast, skye greene and joseph banyard, all those guys can kick up some dust, u'll see in track season:D

McCravey from Clyde has a good future. Not sure what his time is as a soph.

As far as Region 1, I know that Richard Covington (Monahans) and Rashad Terry(Pecos) are both fast. On the track it is always a race between them. With both of them in the same district it is interest. Another fast one in the district is Matt Garvin from Fort Stockton. He finished third behind Richard and Rashad ( I think). Monahans also has Tyqualy Fletcher.

Dayne Grahmann from Yoakum was a junior so he is back. He doesn't play football though. His future is in track. Fast Fast. Cooper beat him once last year in Edna, I think. Every other time Grahmann would beat him a step. The problem is Coop is 6'2" 200 lbs. and Grahman is 5'-10" 160 lbs.

Let's hope Coop is running by the spring. Saw him the other day. Still on crutches. Supposed to be on them for 10 weeks. Hell of an injury.

Man, at the Sealy game some guy from Houston who was watching asked us about Coop... Still can't get over that...

Talking football speed now, Eric Favors of Vernon is very quick. I'm not sure he is as fast as Thompson from Sweetwater, but he is in that group of fast ones.

Vernon also has Bubba Hall who is fast for a Full Back. Probably 4.5 which is not bad for a 200 lbs+ kid.

Talked to a guy at work today who reads the True Orange Newsletter from UT. He said Cooper is still one of their top running back prospects. Cuero also had a lineman but he couldn't remember who it was. Probably Nigh or Sierra.

some of these guys are fast and all but it is football season and it is a physical game, and in my eyes snyder's DEE WALKER is one of the best backs around he is 5'11 190 and runs a 4.4, and most of all he is physical and not afraid to run right over you, snyder also has LICO CASTILLO 6'0 175 and runs a 4.5. Don't count those guys from snyder out this year

Jeremy Thompson and Michael Williams both ran 4.3's last spring....id say that has to be up there pretty high!

09-20-2004, 09:41 PM
Ty Terrasso, a receiver of Barbers Hill ran a 4.3 something, I think 4.31 so that has to be up there pretty high

Jeremy Thompson or Michael Williams did not run a 4.3. You are so full of it.

they mess with the height and weight and speed in there all the time

stangcenter60
09-20-2004, 11:05 PM
haha ya they do!...they said our right guard weighed like 260 and ran like a 5.7!!!! hes 230 and runs a 5.2!!!that magazine is messed up on that stuff....and i was there bro i wouldnt lie about it there would be no point to it....everybody was suprised but thats what they ran....

mustang04
09-20-2004, 11:09 PM
hey...i guaruntee they ran that, cuz my jr. year, they ran a 4.44 and a 4.43, so dont try and say crap from a magazine

i really dont see why you guys argue so much, speed matters but you wont win unless you out hit the other team

That's nothing, I once saw someone limp a 3.9....maybe not, but Cuero's Martell Williams is faster in the 40 than Cooper is and may be on the field too, he just doesn't have the quickness to make cuts and jukes, and Nick Taylor is blazing fast, but he's quicker and shiftier than his 40 times would lead you to believe. And the lineman UT was looking at was probly Nigh, he's got the size he's like 6'12 and his balance and footwork is good for his size, but I will say this, he's not near the athlete Cody Wallace was, but then again, you'd be hard-pressed to find a big man who is.

true orange listed copper as a top junior r.b. they also listed rudd as a top junior tight end. grahamn of yoakum got beat twice last year in 100 meters. in the judson meet and state meet. copper may beat him next yr. but has not yet.

Let me settle this about Thompson:

I saw him play Vernon last year and I saw him this year in a scrimmage. Not to mention, I saw him at the regional track meet last year. The guy is very fast period. I would not be surprised if he did run a 4.3

By the way, I'm a Vernon guy and I do not know a sole that lives in or is from Sweetwater. So I'm objective~

I saw both run the 100 and thier start was not near that good. they were better at the end of the 100 . I would say they MAY run 4.3 out of blocks with track spikes. and thats a BIG Maybe. I would say they are more likely a 4.4 or so.

ok black magic, how about u go to sweetwater and race them, they ran the hundred, but they were also on other relays and events, so yeah they might not have appeared to be able to run that good of time, but tell me one thing, whenever they ran the 100, were u at the 40 mark w/ a stopwatch timing them....?

stangcenter60
09-21-2004, 07:54 PM
they ran their 40's with cleats on the track while using someones foot in place of the blocks.....it was certainly legit man...
