Willingham is the most boring coach to watch or listen talk. He has no personality, he is just soooo dole.

Give ND credit! They are the best and they play the best! No North Texas State or Arksansas State on their schedule. They play the best and toughest schedule in college football. Notre Dame at 8 - 4 is equivalent to Oklahoma or USC at 12 - 0. Plus it is a good christian school that has good christian values. No scandles at Notre Dame. Plus the high graduation rate among its football players is the envy of the nation. The Irish are the best and play the best. This years National Champions at a worthy christian school of high moral values and character.

A lot of top schools such as Miami, Oklahoma and Nebraska don't play ND because they are scared (and who can blame them).

And so many ND players have had success in the NFL too.

I didn't know we based the ability of a football coach on how he talks.

I like Willingham but I'm not an ND fan. Are they back? It's still too early to tell. I mean, Michigan is overrated and Michigan State just flat out sucks.

And to say an 8-4 ND team equals a 12-0 USC team is retarded. That definitely isn't true, at all. (Sorry Phil! :D )

I'd agree. They probably have their most dangerous team since Marshall Faulk was around.

One more thing... I think the Irish are still one more big win away from being "back."

Washington, Purdue and (surprisingly) Stanford will be tough. Throw Boston College and Pittsburgh into the mix, and that's a tough slate of teams to go through. BUT, to be "back" they'll have to beat either Tennessee on Nov. 6 or USC Nov. 27. I think Tennessee matches up too well to be tamed. They have the athletes on defense (not just the line) to match up against ND's athletes on offense. But I do believe USC will have a letdown at the hands of their rivals. They don't have the weapons on the outside. All I've seen are possession receivers with speed.

Plus they have a good 3A boy starting at outside linebacker in Derek Curry from Sealy. Derek graduated in 4 years and is currently serving as defensive signal-caller and captain while going to grad school.

Is he number 49? I thought he was done, was he red-shirted or something?

Still play baseball?

Yeah, Gobbla, Derek is #49. He plays weakside LB and does a fair amount of blitzing on passing downs. He is a 5th year senior because he had a RS year as a freshman. Currently in grad school after earning a business degree in 4 years. Originally they said he could play baseball, but it hasn't panned out at ND as far as I know. Scotty might know more.

It is like I said before Notre Dame at 8 -4 is the same as Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, USC, Miami, Tenn, Ohio State, etc at 12 - 0 because of the roughness and toughness of their schedule. I have to reluctanly give the bowls credit but they realize this which is why ND at 5 - 6 once got invited to a bowl game.
