Sounds like a real defensive slobberknocker of a ball game.:D

130 combined points?

That has got to be in the top ten at least on the record charts.

And yall thought the Liberty Hill game was a track meet.

I wonder if either team even considered punting on fourth down with a score like that.

mv punted once and had one turnover.
rc had one turnover and no punts...

How are the other teams in y'all's district shaping up this year. Commerce is usually a perennial contender, but how about everyone else? Just curious.

You have to get to fourth down to need a punt. Sounds like it only took three plays or less to score on each possesion. :D

true true pphs...
and to you buckeye, the district is pretty good. i dont think it was as hard as the one we were in last year with you and lindale, but who knows, commerce is looking good and quinlin isn't bad. the qb, dickson, for mv, had 324 and 6td's. i wonder how i know that? lol. and the backs for rc were unstoppable, very good.

Did you learn much from Ricky Joe? LOL :)
Good luck to the Purple Tigers. I'll make you a deal. Y'all handle y'all's business up there. We'll handle our's down here, and we'll meet in the third round of the D2 playoffs! Deal?

I would love to see MV's new high powered offense against that steel curtain D of Gilmer. I will save judgement on the outcome until later in the season.:D

I wonder if those folks in Royse City get mad about everyone spelling their name wrong. Kinda like everyone spells Gainesville wrong.:)

I guess next week it is the battle of the most misspelled towns.

:D

I am betting Royse City is gonna give Gainesville a decent game.

Look for it to be another track meet.

I wonder if a Buckeye would give a Purple Tiger indigestion!!:D

As long as Gainesville has Sutton as QB they won't do much.

I think this year, Buckeyes give just about anything an upset stomache.

I have to admit that this year's team is exceeding my meager expectations.
You kinda missed this one by a little bit didn't you? You said Gilmer would win 24-12. You must have meant the first quarter score, right?:p LOL

I really expected it to be a closer game because it was being played in the middle of the day. Gilmer exceeded my expectations this time.

Who do you guys have next week? And another thing. How did you manage to get your BYE in week ten?:D

That's the third year in a row for the week 10 bye. I don't know how it happened.

Next week is Pleasant Grove in Texarkana. I don't know why, but the Hawks always play us very close. They still have their "Mr. Everything" RB, Paul McGuire, and it's really never any question about where the ball is going. If they don't give it to him to rush it, they throw a swing pass to him in the flat. I can't say I blame them though; he is a great athlete.

I am going to meditate on this one for a day or two before giving my prediction.:)

I will be awaiting your sage wisdom. By the way, the 42-6 prediction for the Lindale game gave me goosebumps after the game was over and 35-6. Are you a witch?

And sorry Purple Tiger. I didn't mean to turn your thread into a Gilmer discussion. I'll get my own thread next time.:)

MV has a very good team, the passing offense is impressive
No one has stopped RC's rushing attack, so don't feel bad about that
I was impressed by Winnsboro, but I would give the edge to MV for the district race based on what I've seen
Good luck to Mount Vernen for the remaining games
