In what appears to be a close game, the Eagles end the Steers 25 game home winning streak by holding the Steers to 17 yards of offense in the second half. Decatur led 21-12 at the half and began the 3rd quarter with a 15 play 80 yard drive to the Graham 4 yard line where it was 1st and goal. A fumbled pitch was picked up by Graham and returned 94 yards for a TD. That's a 14 pt. swing the made the game tighter than it should have been. The Decatur defense held Graham to 173 yards of offense and 12 points. That's way below the 450 yard avg. and 54 pts. they were accustomed to getting. The Decatur offense showed they can controll the clock when they need to by keeping the ball for over 17 minutes of the second half. Congratulations Eagles!

I forgot about that streak. I guess Decatur didn't hear about it. Just glad Vernon has the Steers at home--although right now I don't think it would matter.

Decatur looks tough. As long as they go injury free this could be their year. Coach Story better ride this one for as long as he can because once this season is over it will be a little tougher ride.
With Decatur's population growing we could see the Eagles in 4A in a few years. Or, they could be the next Bridgeport, watch a great QB and WR combo come through the system and then here come the lean years again.

Yes they do. They uniforms look horrible. I hate to see the home version with the red shirt and blue pants. at least some white helps even things out in the away games.
