In the last 5 years at least 1 of the 2 State champs in 3A was not in the AP final top ten poll. Here is this years final AP poll:

1. Burnet
2. Bellville
3. Gainesville
4. Gilmer
5. Forney
6. Daingerfield
7. Jasper
8. Celina
9. Newton
10. Kennedale

Just for thought.....only 50% of the champions in the last five years was the highest ranked team in the contest. Underdogs in the final game won 50% of the time. (At least that is the best I can tell from the final top ten polls)

SO HERE IS THE QUESTION....What two 3A teams that are not on this top ten poll have the best chance of being the underdog champion this year? Give us your nominations.

This is an easy one.....E-V-E-R-M-A-NThat sounds good to me....but there are two divisions....so who is your pick in Div II?

Looks like history repeats. Only one state champ this year was in the final top ten poll. In fact of the six teams left (Vernon, PI, Marlin, Atlanta, Gainesville and Burnet) only two were in the final top ten (Burnet and Gainesville). Since none of the Division II teams were included in the top ten, it assures that one state champ was not on the "Experts" radar at the end of the regular season. Just wish my Eagles were still in the hunt.
