After 4 weeks the curse will finally "DIE"!
It will be a good game. Sinton always plays well against Cuero. Cuero will be playing in front of a home crowd and they really pack the stands on a Friday night.

Too soon...
this game should not be played till week 10!
Sinton was roughed up a little by Beeville. They are physical. Hopefully they can help prepare the Pirates for an awesome Cuero team. I mean AWESOME.
It should be a good game.

I've got the Gobblers by 597. We had less talent last year and didn't even play that good and still beat them senseless. Hell, we even had the orangeheads out there and they couldn't get a first down. This team is hungry and all the gobblers want a big bowl of Sinton Soup. They worst part is that it's a home game. The fans get too crunk up there and it's the #1 toughest place to play in the whole damn country. The only curse this week is the Sinton Stompin'.

I was not aware that Cuero had been given the number one spot yet. I thought the curse did not start until Tuesday. There are a couple more teams that could be cursed as well. If I were Cuero I would be on the phone telling the AP to leave me alone.:D

That's what I said in an earlier post. I am pulling for Decatur to be #1 in the AP this week

PS Will any of you Sinton posters be at the Fresh or JV game Thurs?

It doesn't matter if it's Cuero or Decatur as the no.1 team, they will both win this week and the curse will be broken. Who cares what we are ranked as long as we get a win. We keep winning, we get closer and closer to that state championship.

I think Sinton faces a team like G-P this week in Cuero. Listening to the Coach's show, Sinton is just trying to get better every week. Coach Mitchell is doing his best to work with these young players. I think he is doing a great job. Cuero might seem insurmountable to these young Pirates but I think they will be UP for the challenge. It's gonna be a good game.:)

I understand that Cuero has a bunch of starters hurt. At least the top two RB's are out and a host of more nagging injuries. This game may be better than a lot of folks think. Go Pirates!!!!

Sinton is my fav team, behind the Tarpons of course. ;) Going by the scores and teams each have played I would have to say that Cuero should be the favorite in this game. So I say Cuero by at least 7-10 points.

Prove me wrong Pirates!

I think Cuero's D posts another shutout, but their offense will sputter a bit. I've got Cuero by 24.

District303aPastPlayer
09-20-2004, 05:29 PM
Sinton WILL score... Collins has been coming into his own as a power back and has been something of a surprise. Gonzales has a good set of hands and may turn into the clutch reciever that the pirates need. Look for Burk to do the same. He had a good game vs Beeville and a great looking touchdown pass. If Sinton can score 24 they will win. If Cuero holds them to under 24.. they win, simple as that

bb04
09-20-2004, 06:43 PM
Cuero 32 Sinton 14....After Cuero's sloppy performance last week i look for Coach Reeve to get them prepared and ready to come out and put it on Sinton for homecoming. It's going to take one hulluva passing attack, similar to Wharton's (which i dont think MANY 3a teams in the state have) to put up more then 24 on this Cuero D. Should be a very good game.

cuero's luck will run out this friday. their dt's absolutely suck. i doubt they could even start on the jv for sinton. #42 at end is worthless. he gets driven so far off the ball every play it nots even funny. if sinton decides to pass then cuero is dead. their secondary is probably the worst i've seen in a while. #33 needs to learn to tackle as well as the other linebacker. the only decent person on that defense is #36 and he really isnt that good. as for the offense, it would do nothing without that line. their rbs showed last friday what kind of power they have against people that can hit and sinton's defense is full of hitters. so #42 and #23, when you're running the ball, whoever hits you is pushing the right joystick the whole way going for the kill.

for some reason sinton always beats cuero. i think its because they have better coaches and players that are more disciplined and can execute an actual gameplan. cuero's gameplan- toss right toss left... doesnt get you very far when you play against a good d that can stuff the run like sinton. so i expect cuero to open up with the passing game some. cuero has some decent receivers. its too bad they dont know how to run routes and sinton's dbs are just too physical for them.

I'll give you some credit we did have trouble beating Sinton WITH Alanaz*correct me if im wrong on that name* at QB but unless he's going to dress ..............you get my point !

More disciplined ? I think your talking about that big 5a team up the road a bit. That's how ridiculous your no discipline comment is *no further comment*is needed.

Good job of stuffing the run last year,by the way > I was very impressed . Toss left 5 yd's toss right 5 yds' tossleft 10 yd's toss right 5 yd's ....hmmm I think were onto something here ....lol.

Just remember to get your guy's to learn double knot's dont want anyone to lose their shoes when our no hitting not physical defense makes one of those love tap's on your QB/RB/REC.

We know that Cuero's offense can put the ball in the endzone. We know that Sinton's offense can put the ball in the endzone. How do the defenses stack up?

The only team that has put any big points on Sinton is GP. Those guys are Raw Meat eaters. Always have and always will. I mean that in a good way. My cousins both played for GP back in the mid 80s and even though I didn't like GP blood in blood if you know what I mean.

Wharton put up 50+? points on Cuero! I look for this to be high scoring. If Sinton wants it they will take it!

Sinton is going to have a tough time stopping that Cuero offense. Reeve can follow last years pattern and just run, run run. That's what they did are they were very good at it. Sinton's smaller D is quick but has to play their best game yet. They should score more than last years 6 points but need to keep the pressure on Cuero. If Sinton starts scoring early who knows how this game will turn out. Cuero is definately favored. Size, speed, power and good coaching to boot. What can you NOT say about them. It will still be a good game.
No prediction here as this game IMHO will be a good one. Cuero is improved from last year. Sinton is improved, too. Sinton had to improve more than the Gobblers(Cuero was already good ;)) and I think they have. This game will determine who has improved the most and will determine the region 4 early favorite.

Cuero's D, though giving up those big points, is tough (Shut-outs against West-Oso, La Grange and Sealy)...

The scheme just didn't work that night against Wharton and Trey Jones was feeling it under center...

We've done well against the pass minus Wharton... But you shouldn't have any real reason to believe me I guess seeing how Wharton blew our secondary out of the Water week 3... But it was a learned experience, not only for the players, but for the coaches, they know how to line our guys up and know which schemes play into the hands of our DB's etc...

Gunna be low scoring I predict...

I can almost guarantee that noone will hang 50 on Cuero the rest of the year. Wharton had a few lucky breaks in there and we had some coverage breakdowns. Cuero will stop the run, that's a given, so it'll be up to Sinton to put the ball in the air and if they can do that successfully, they have a chance. But is Sinton a passing team? Wharton plays "basketball on grass" and have wide open offense, so they are used to throwing the ball around a whole lot, but unless Sinton has a stud at QB, I think Cuero will keep them out of the endzone completely, and finish the day with 4 picks. As far as the offense of Cuero goes, they could put retarded monkey in the backfield and still hang 200 yards rushing with that O-line, and they've got good backs. Wharton has a fast La Grange had a strong defense and Fabian tore them up with quickness, Wharton has a fast defense and Vell straight ran them over, so Sinton doesn't have much of a chance unless Peyton's the QB and they signed Ray-Ray from Baltimore.

It might be early to say this since sinton's qb is still a junior, but i think he might be one of the better qbs sinton has had. I notice he reads coverages pretty good and has been accurate first 3 games, GP game he kept getting low snaps and pulling out to quick, but looks like that has been taken care off. I saw him twice early last year and cant believe the improvement hes made since then. The team as a whole just continues to improve every week.
This pirate team looks like they are more at there best when they get to pass the ball. Good Luck Pirates~Beat the Gobblers:D

With Cuero it pretty much depends on Gonzales making the playoffs I think. We were gonna go D-2 last year if Gonzales made playoffs cuz they're the biggest school in the district, and I think we might be the second biggest....something like that...

D-1 or D-2 is based on the size of the school........no matter if ur the 1st place or second....the biggest of the 2 is d-1 and the smaller is d-2

Well, I was thinking that Gonzales was gunna make the playoffs.... But now I hear Hallettsville (smallest school in 3A) is looking really tough etc... Cuero and Yoakum should make the playoffs, after that? Hallettsville and Gonzales look to be in the hunt for the third spot, maybe second? Who knows...

well right now we have probably over a 1000 yards rushing split between 3 rbs and our qb...cooper would have that and then some if he was playing this year... secondary proved to be weak against wharton but that should be fixed... so it just depends on how our secondary played

Well it wasn't that our secondary was weak, it was that our scheme in the zone just wasn't cutting it... Looked like Reeve decided to stick to his guns and go with it... If you noticed, we broke up a lot of passes and were toe to toe with those receivers all night, Jones was just on fire...
