5. Giddings 24 Newton 20 Div 2 Reg 3 Champ: The Buffs won the "Smack Bowl" on the downlow as I think more trash was talked on this game than any other games combined!

4. Kennedale 42 Sweetwater 37 Div 2 Reg 1 Area Rd: Kennedale won this shootout, every playoff game they had was a shootout...the Cats won on a late TD drive after Sweetwater took the lead with less than 2 minutes left..

3. Commerce 14 LaGrange 11 Div 2 State Championship: The Tigers pulled out a close win led by a stingy defense and the running of Tommy Wright...

2. Sinton 21 Bellville 13 Div 1 Reg 4 Championship: The Pirates showed the state they could win close games besides blowing everyone else out...a great battle of 12-0 teams...

1. Everman 21 Forney 17 Div 1 Reg 2 Area Rd: The Bulldogs beat the Jackrabbits in the 1 vs 2 showdown at overflow Pennington Field...2 turnovers cost the Rabbits and a key stop on 4th down preserved the Bulldogs win...

I'd add Wimberley vs. Yoakum, regional semifinal game in Victoria, Wimberley won 10-7, but the game came down to a fourth and inches play, Yoakum going for the first down with around 1:30 left in the game, Yoakum tried a QB sneak, D-line stood him up, Slaughter tagged him, stopped him about 1 inch short of the first down. It was a fun game to watch!

Good picks, Matt, on the best game of the playoffs. Although, Forney committed only one turnover in the Everman-Forney game. There were, indeed, TWO costly mistakes...also, I'd have to disagree with your rankings. Although I'm from Commerce, I don't think you can make a case that the Tigers were better than Forney. I would go 1. Everman, 2. Forney, 3. Commerce...
