This may be too close for comfort for PPHSFan

Sounds like a great game. Little elm can make things close and should do well in District this year.

they played celina pretty close last week, which tells me they are already better then Whitesboro of course, and pottsboro (who celina beat 55-0 ouch), but i dont know how good bowie is.. i havnt heard anything about them.. i predict the top 3 in district as

1. Gainesville
2. Sanger
3. Pilot Point

Pilot point relys on there running back Jarail Johnson for offense.. if he goes out.. Pilot point will struggle

You must have forgotten about Sanger getting throttled by Bonham when you picked them to take second.:D

Keith,

You do know that since 1976 Pilot Point has lost the last game of the regular season twice? So odds are in your favor.:)

And our record with Sanger since 76 is 15-2-1

I am thinking about asking out of the bet.:D

PPHS on a total different subject - I meant to ask you the other day. Do you recall a Trainer/Physical Therapist, not a student, years back named Kevin Benton? I think he was at PP maybe in the early 90's

hmm leading rusher, reciever, and he even threw a pass.. Pilot Point had 135 yards not accounted for by Jarail Johnson, and Jarail Johnson had the 125 other yards... nearly 50%

looks like they do rely on him for offense

PPHSfan
09-18-2004, 11:41 AM
Keith,

Most every team has one guy that accounts for half of the total yards. But that does not mean they are a team without him.

Now if you want to talk about what happens to Decatur without their QB then we can have a discussion, but saying PP needs Johnson anymore than Gainesville needs Purvey is just silly.

Keith7

against forney

Terrius Purvey's total yards - 102
The rest of the offense- 218

he is only about 1/3 instead of half.. I think Jarail Johnson is more important to Pilot Point's offense then Purvey is to Gainesville's

Keith7

This isnt about Gainesville tough.. its about Sanger and how chris higgs is gonna pass and run all over yall

he is 3A's Chase Daniels

Keith,

You know that argument does not hold water until one of us has to play without our top RB. It's not like we play with 10 players if he goes down.

I believe Gainesville is just as good without Purvey. They have some RB's behind him that can go anytime they touch it.

Gainesville is not near as good with out Purvey as they are with him. Just like last night they had 21 points in the first half with him playing and just 10 in the second half with out him playing. He also had a kick-off return for a touchdown called back.

when we (castleberry) played bowie, our starting running back got kicked out of the game in the beginning of the 2nd... he had already had 3 receptions for 125 yards.... we went on to lose... it was gay... the refs were horrible...

So are you saying that losing is gay? Or that football is gay? Or that 3 for 125 is gay?

I am so confused.

Bowie will not be a factor in district.....
The Jackrabbits haven't made the playoffs in years.... and with the teams they will have to get by to get a playoff spot will be an extreme tough task.
They might have beaten 2A Holliday, and yes that's a good win, but they also lost to 2A Jacksboro the week before.

you obviously dont play, when you work your ass off you expect a result... and when its a L instead of a W.... that sux...

Honestly not just because I play for Castleberry but that game had alot of bad calls. When we watched film the next morning we counted more than a handful including a block in the back on one of Bowies TD runs that a ref was standing in front of and didnt throw a flag for, a TD that was ruled down at the one from a pass to our WR who had both feet in bounds. They also flagged our Defensive Cordinator because when he was walking up to our LB to give him the play the ref ran into him and fell. He didnt even warn our coach he just got up and threw the flag. If our RB would have stayed in the game the outcome would have became a whole lot more different.

I think these were the same refs that were at the Gainesville-Celina game a couple years back

You're right, I don't play. I've been out of school for almost 20 years. No one likes to lose, but losing is part of the game. Remember, losing without class makes you look like a bigger loser.
