Had to go change my wife's flat tire. A few scores from KJAK radio on the way back home.
Muleshoe 28, Seminole 6. The zebras wanted to control this one; called tons of horrendous bad calls on both teams. I guess at least it was evenly p*ss-poor officiating.
Perryton 13, Dumas 7 (OT)
Pampa beat Borger, can't remember score (doh!)
Canyon was ahead of Littlefield 29-14 4Q
1A Stratford waxed Dalhart about 40-12

Canyon looks to be the one to beat up there~

The Eagles are quietly doing THIS year what they were SUPPOSED to do last year. I think they will be hell on wheels by playoff time.

Great showing. Funny how all the talk was about Perryton. Canyon posters never complained about not being raked etc. They just keep picking up the wins.

I think da Mules will do well in district, but then 2-3A immediately goes head-to-head with 1-3A. Borger usually gets 3rd place and goes D1, so we run head-on into Canyon or Perryton in DII.

The last time we played Perryton that wasn't a problem (Mules won 50-9) but that was 1999 and this is now.

last year was very humbling and i think the boys realize they can lose on any given night. thanks for compliment.

dont sell them mules short. farm boys know how to play football. and btw canyon will be d1 this year if we make the playoffs. borgers enrollment dropped below canyon.

In case somebody's bookie is calling you on these games, here are the corrected scores

Muleshoe 25, Seminole 6 (pretty bad when you can't even get your own teams score right. double-doh!!)
Levelland 41, Lamesa 27
Canyon 50, Littlefield 27
Lubbock Cooper 30, Floydada "Whirlwinds" 0 (I love that name; their mascot wears a green & white tornado cloud outfit)
Pampa 30, Borger 7

what were the defensive stats for muleshoe. after already being number 1 in the region i bet you added to it this week. we are going to drop a little this week. canyon allowed 217 total yards and i will tell you that littlefield may be small but them boys will come after you like a scalded ape.

canyon has been extremely sound on both sides of the ball, with the qb finally throwing his 1st pick of the season last night. 3 of the 4 games canyon's offense should have put up 60, but just beat themselves. defensively, they have a lot of speed. the compliments are appreciated, but the true tests will come the next two weeks, at levelland and at lubbock cooper

Canyon is looking strong. I don't think that Levelland will be much of a test unless they've come around from earlier blowouts to begin the season.
Now Lubbock Cooper and Canyon should be a good matchup.

da Mules slipped a bit against the Injuns; Allowed 75 rushing yards, most of them by Jeremy Hill, the Indian's outstanding running back. After a lot of success in the 2nd quarter, Seminole inexplicably didn't use him very much; a coaching error IMHO. Muleshoe allowed 130 passing yards for a total of 205 yards.

Offense: Mules had 209 on the ground and 156 via air for 365 total. About par for the course.

Penalties: Even allowing for the aforementioned PP reffin', it was kinda EEWGLY! 9 for 70 yards, including 1 unsportsmanlike. Korey Atwood tackled a guy and then kind of rubbed his face in the grass when he started to get up after the whistle. Kory'll do some sprints for that little guilty pleasure next week, I bet .

dont sound like the mules slipped too much. you still held them to more than we did. looks like them mules will still be #1 in the area. we had a good game but the intensity was down a bit. matt lovern did a good job with 16-21 for 170 yards and two touchdowns. he did throw his first int but im glad he got it out of the way. jake romero (soph) had a 200 yard game. keep it up mules im glad to see you back to form. hope you make a statement like you did in 99.
