How accurate do you think the player's heights and weights listed in programs are? Do you even care about these stats? Do you think some schools "pad" these stats, or not? How about "40" times listed in some of the football magazines? I think most coaches just get "close" and let it go at that. I don't think there are too many conscious efforts to distort these stats. What do you say?

I've noticed that a lot of teams are getting away from listing that information.

for our program all we can print is what they give us ..... we reprint for every home game so our game program has the latest up to date standings, analysis, 4A poll, and notes on home and visiting players ...

Back when I was in HS, I was 5'10", 175 on game nights. Take off 2 inches and 20 lbs. for the rest of the week. They don't really matter anyways. The best defensive end I've seen in a long time was a 5'10" kid from Aransas Pass named Polito Palma. Wasn't your typical 6'2", but he got the job done. That's all that matters to me.

40 stats are definitely smudged.

I don't usually read the program stats. I watch the first play from scrimmage and look for the D linemen that are in the backfield laying the wood to someone. That is usually a good indicator that they can play.
