Not necessarily. It can be indicative, but may not always be so. (Is that vague enough for you?) :)

it can be hard to tell. i think that in larger programs there will be more of a correlation between food jv and a good varsity......in small programs or below average programs i dont think that there will be a noticable correlation.

good programs usually have good coaches and that will make the younger groups better teams. i think that the larger numbers also help because the jv can keep some of the younger athletes down with their class. in small programs the jv might be bad because there might be sophmores that have to be moved up to play.
