Merkel vs. Ballinger (2A)

What are the outcomes? Ballinger beat us last year. We also lost 24 out of 31 players last year. Any predictions???

BALLINGER - 24

Seems to me that 2A teams are proving to be quite a challenge to Merkel this year. Not a very good indicator for the post district season. Merkel might start basketball earlier this year.

I think Merkel will have their hands full with Ballinger this year also. It might be embarrassing to get beat by two 2A teams in a row.

Merkel is 3A. Ballinger is 2A.

Ballinger has lost a lot, Merkel should win this easy.

Ballinger will have their hands full with Merkel's quarterback. Hopefully we can hang with them and make a game of it. Merkel would LOVE to beat Ballinger as it's something they have rarely done. This could be the year, we've got a very young team, but the Bearcats will show up!!

Both teams are trying to reinvent themselves after losing good senior classes. Of the two starters that Ballinger returned from last years team, only one has been healthy and played both games. The Bearcats gave a great effort against Brady last week. Lack of experience really hurt the team against Brady. Penalties at key times and turnovers deep in our own territory kept Ballinger from pulling off an upset. On paper, Merkel has more returning talent and they are 3A. Therefore, they should be considered a solid favorite. If Ballinger can play like they did last week and not make as many mistakes, then they could have a good shot at making this game interesting.

Merkel wins this one, as much as I hate to admit it. I think Ballinger is really rebuilding and isn't ready this year. However, later in the season or next year, look out.

I agree with Johnny on this one. I will take Merkel over Ballinger.
