Well this coming up week the Eagles will face nearly a tough task. This will be one of there biggest opponents this year against Diboll. I'm only going to have two predictions for this.

Prediction #1: Barbers Hill wins but it will be a barn burner

Prediction #2: Get in the stands early because if you show up late..don't plan on getting a seat up there in the stands

yeah if you dont get there by 6:30 at least you won't get a good seat it be on the fence!

Hupernikomen

and let me add unless you enjoy watching future cheerleaders and eagles walk past, around, over, and everywhere all night you should sit up high in the stands. I have never seen so many little ones at a football game in my life. They were everywhere and they were having a blast.

Well I got season tickets so my seats will be safe:D This is going to be a good game between two great teams. Diboll will have a long bus ride to the game and when they enter Eagle Stadium they will see what BH fans are all about. Before last week I would have given Diboll a 7 point advantage, but these Eagles are playing so well right now it will take a freight train to knock them off of their game. I'll predict a close one till half time then the Eagles will come out and Roll. BH 35 Diboll 21.

The lumberjacks got beat by a good Carthage team last week and will be out for revenge but the Hill boys will be to much to reckon with.

To RBARKER: I am very impressed with Barbers Hill this year. I would have picked Diboll at the first of the year, but at this point Diboll will only be a bump in the road for the Eagles. Everyone on the Eagles team will get to play this weekend.

Yes, I hope the Eagles win, but I'm sure not as confident as most of you on this thread. If the Hill plays a mistake free game then the Hill should come away with the victory. Yet this is a good Diboll team and after losing last week they are going to be extra fired up. Why are most of ya'll predicting such a big win for the Hill?

Should be a good game.... Although I do not think it will be easy for either teams. What kind of stand-out players does BH have? Diboll does have a good reciever in Finley, but he's not the only major threat, watch out for the unknowns. Defense needs some work, offense is looking great....at times.. but still need to work on qb situation.

Diboll played Carthage good for the 1st half alone. They Led 28-21, at the half....did not score the 2nd half. They were 1st and goal at 5 yd line, but penalties kept them out of the endzone to go up 2 td's. Carthage's main threat was their RB Beechum, who will more than likely have 1,000 yards in 5 games. He's at around 750 in 3, watch out for him. Ran for 250, with broken collar bone.

If BH has a RB that could have that kind of production it will be a close game.

Hopefully Diboll will go work out some of their problems this week, to be prepared for a good BH team.

btw....bighank = seth?

I believe if we can get the kinks ironed out then we will prevail in this contest but good luck to both teams and may the best one win

For the Diboll fans I will give you a little info on the Eagles. The Eagles are lead by a junior QB in his second year that can pass the ball as well as run it. He is backed up by two talented RB's and a FB that hit the hole hard and gain good yardage. The Offensive line has been winning the battle in the trenches opening up holes and protecting the QB they are of average size but very strong and well coached. The Defense this year has been unbelievalbe holding Anahuac to 26 yards total offense in game one. Anahuac then went on to score 29 on #1 2A Newton in route to an upset. 4A vidor is the only team to score on this Defense thus far scoring 19 points. BH has two shutouts out of three games so far averaging 35 points a game on offense ond only allowing 6 points per game. This will be a good game don't get me wrong both of these team will do well this year , but the Eagles are playing great ball right now and havn't been beat at home since 1998.

I also think that this will be a much closer game than is apparently being predicted by some of our fans, Diboll may have lost last week but they are a tough team that will win if we do not come out and play our best game. And the last home loss for the Eagles was to Dickinson in 2002. I think 1998 may have been the last time we lost a district game at home...(maybe?)

Hupernikomen

This will be a good game. Diboll has plenty of athletes to compete with BH. I don't think BH has any answer for Finley, but I don't know if Diboll can get the ball to him as easily as they did last year. Haven't seen Diboll play this year to know what they have on the line of scrimmage, but I guess it is terse but true...this game will be won at the line of scrimmage.

I'm almost certain that Diboll lost 1 o-line starter and 2 DE's last year, every1 else on the both lines are back this year.

Finley has 10 catches in 2 games, 7 coming last week vs carthage. The Qb has thrown for over 400 yards, and rushing, the starting RB has rushed for 300 yards on 21 carries in 2 games. I'm hoping to make the drive to the Hill.

Diboll will be playing in a 2nd homecoming game, last week was Carthage's.

HoHoHo
09-13-2004, 08:51 AM
I don't think Barbers Hill can contain Diboll's offense. They have played well on defense but they haven't seen anything like what they are going to see friday night. To much speed at running back and to much speed by the receivers. Diboll 30, Barbers Hill 17. Take it to the bank!

eagle08
09-13-2004, 09:38 AM
When it comes to matching up with speed, I don't think the Hill will have a problem there. As for matching up with Finley, well, I'll just say that by the end of the game he will know he came to play a strong, well coached football team. May the best team win. Both teams better bring their A game.

Ops your right 98 was the last District game that we lost at home. The outcome of this game will be all about the Defense IMHO. Both Offenses are strong and will gain some yardage, But I think BH will have the stronger defense. If BH can score 21 points I think they will come out with the win. Also you throw in the discipline factor. The Eagles are a very discipline bunch in three games the Eagles have a total of 5 fumbles and 9 penalties while Diboll in just one game against Splendora had 5 fumbles and 12 penalties. If Diboll has a game like that against the Eagles it will be lights out.

Barber Hills hasnt faced D1 talent like this since Reggie White of Liberty who ran at will against BH. This group of BH players has never faced this kind of speed. The only way BH wins is if Diboll beats itself.

FINALLY...the other team has support on here, even Anahuac was humble and complimentary in week 0 (unusual for them to say the least) and our next two games were 2 different 4a teams which don't seem to visit this 3a site too often lol. Its good to hear some competitive spirit going both ways...I hope Diboll has a safe trip over and we have a great night of injury free High School football

Finally!!

The Eagletown hass come back to the down low!

WOW!!!

That was kinda fun.

I've set back and watched you goons pick on the town the only town EAGLETOWN long enough!

Diboll is a scoring machine.

They are racking up the points Offensively.

But, they are giving them up Defensively.

The EAGLES are a little more diciplined when it comes to fumble/penatilies.

Our Defense has not been giving up many points and the Offense has been putting them up.

Not against great teams like the HOLY WOS but competative teams.

They did beat a more seasoned Vidor team from this year that barely lost to WOS last year and had a lot of them returners from the team that barely lost to the HOLY WOS last year.

I think our Defense over their Defense will be the deciding factor.

I don't see Diboll slowing our Offense they have'nt slowed no ones yet.

I goin with, yep you guessed it, the EAGLES, my EAGLES on this.

:D EAGLES 28

:( Diboll 14

We can't be denied, we won't be denied.

I'm going to throw this in just cause.

 If I recall years ago a former EAGLE coach is who got WOS on the football map.

I'll see all you Dibollies Friday in Da EAGLETOWN!!

Oh yeah tell them COPS of yours to lighten up a little bit on them speed traps.

Diboll's Defense does need to step it up this week. Like RB said, they gave up 21 to Splendora and 35 to Carthage. I also think that noboday has been able to completely shut down carthages running game. Unless someone is able to put their back Beechum on check, they will keep scoring in the 30's or more like they did vs 3-0 Palestine and Henderson.

What i'm trying to say is that unless Barber's Hill has a Back like Beechum it will a tough night for them. He, alone, kept carthage in the game.

I do not doubt that BH is a well disciplined team either. They will make few mistakes because they are a well coached team.

My point with that is some of those move ins in WOS,

that are there due to WOS's football tradition,

that celebrate the great WOS football tradition,

that think WOS is so great,

that say they know tradition but don't,

take it as you will,

might aught,

maybe only in East Texas,

aught to be thanking BH instead of bashing us.;)
