I know we still have a couple of months before things really get going, but I was just wondering which 3a team ya'll think has the toughest zero week game. I am going to have to go with my guys...Navasota vs. Brenham in the dome. This is a heated rivalry from way back. All the kids either know each other or are cousins. It should be a much better game this year.

I have not seen a schedule, but Forney usually schedules a really tough 4A school in Zero week, so they get my vote.

This won't qualify as the toughest zero week and I am also assuming the schedule for Sinton will be the same as last year. In week one Sinton will travel to Raymondville who is a good 3A team that made division 2 3A playoffs last year. The next game will be Gregory-Portland in Sinton and G-P made it to the state semis in division 2 4A last year. It was a great game last year in Portland with Sinton winning 16 - 7.

Forney has a very tough one in Aledo, who of
course went deep in the 4A playoffs last year.
This is the 4th year in a row to open with Aledo,
and all of the games have been very competitive.
They have a great program there, and I don't
think we are too bad either. This is one matchup
that I hope continues into the future.

Not 0 week either but in week 2 Everman travels to Lawton Okla. to play a 6A team there. They will feature a running back already verballed to OU.

Burnet opens with Austin Reagan again. Burnet went to House Park last year and beat the pre-season #4 4A Austin Reagan 33-6. They come to our house this year, and will probably again be a top 10 4A club.

Gotta go with Navasota on this one...opening with the 4A runner ups...

Port Isabel will play 2 scrimmages starting the season.....then instead of a 3rd game being half scrimmage and half real game Port Isabel will play La Vernia a real football game(not scrimmage).

Bridge City vs Little Cypress-Mauriceville( big 4A); however the next game might prove more interesting- for a number of years, BC has beat Liberty as bad as they wanted too, just like last season. The tables have turned, Liberty is a Senior laden team this year and BC is starting a Sophomore line, both ways. This may be the only time in modern times when Liberty has the opportunity to put-it-on BC, while early in the preseason. I will venture that Coach Tarver, will have that young bunch trained enough by Post season to mop up the floor with Liberty once again in the postseason, if they should meet..

Pilot Point does not have the toughest, however they may have the easiest. It is a long tradition for Pilot Point to play Aubrey, which is just six miles down the road. Don't ask me why the Coaches in Aubrey insist on gettin their kids beat up year after year, but it is still the second largest game that the bearcats play every year, second only to Celina.

You have to go all the way back to 1977 to find Aubrey winning this game. Score Aubrey 20 PP 15

For the past 25 years it looks like this.

Pilot Point 1,111 Aubrey 149

avg. PP 44.44 Aubrey 5.96

OUCH!!

Yet again, Cuero plays no Zero week game...

Dunno if our scrimmages have changed or not since we've changed coaches, but we would scrimmage La Grange and either Refugio or Marlin week Zero, forget the order... But our reg season schedule is just the same as last year's, tough as hell...
