TCU quarterback Tye Gunn was selected as the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts against Northwestern last Thursday night, the league office announced today.

Gunn, a junior from LaGrange, Texas, was playing for the first time since October 18, 2003. He completed 20-of-38 passes for 368 yards and four touchdowns, all career highs, in leading the Frogs to a 48-45 double overtime victory. His touchdown passes came from 20, 82, 40 and 24 yards out. The 82-yarder to Michael DePriest was the longest in Gunn's career. The win extended his career record as a starter to a perfect 9-0, the top winning percentage among all collegiate quarterbacks.

Gunn and the Horned Frogs will try to run their regular season home winning streak to 15 consecutive games when they host the SMU Mustangs on Saturday, September 11. The 85th renewal of the battle for the Iron Skillet kicks off at 6:05 p.m.
