Probably the two best DEs in the state come out of Rice Consolidated. Shaw and King are built and they are very quick. I don't think you can find a QB that can get around them. Who do you think the best DEs in the state are?

I know king is pretty bad, do not know about the other one...

So, what about the best running QB's in the state? Have you seen them play?

I think Jones got around 'em last year...

Last year Shaw played LB and also he and King where not as big and as fast as they are now. You cannot compare them to a QB unless they play each other. And I also said that "I don't think you can find a QB that can get around them", that is saying that there probably are a few out there that are quick enough to get by.

Well I don't think that Elvis is still alive...

But does that mean I think that he 'may' be out there somewhere?

No...

I know what you mean though, just giving you a hard time...

What does Rice have in the secondary this year?

yeah i watched him run. when he took offf i started counting...1..2...3...4..and then like right after that he finished so i just made some scientific calculations and figured it was .27 seconds after i said 4 so he ran a 4.27

There is no way anyone in high school can run a 4.27. And plus, you can't run near to that with pads.

Ok, ok. That time is not accurate. You cannot just count and then estimate. Find out what the stopwatch said and then you can tell us.

Stopwatches are just as bad as counting. I want to see electronic high tech olympic timing.

Miguel Requena from Caldwell has to be in that category. The 280 pounder is quick and powerful. All state material.

I don't have one in particular but I have noticed over the last few years in all classifications that there is no prototypical defensive end. If you look at the all staters from 3A to 5A you will see 6'6" 260lb guys and you will see some that are 5'-10" 175 lbs. Speed and quickness are the only common denominator. I think that is what makes this position so intriguing.

Thompson cant run anything in the 4.3's. Maybe he can run a mid 4.4

I bet there are not 25 kids in all of 3A that can run a legit 4.40

You gotta love hand timing.

There were maybe six guys at the NFL combine this year that ran 4.4 or less.

D. Hall from Virginia Tech, now with the Falcons.

Any Wildcats know how fast that Quincy Cotton kid from K-ville is. When he ran down the DB from Corrigan last week, he looked like the fastest HS player I had seen Fred Talley.
