Decatur and Gainesville is prob the GOTW, and is getting the attention, but dont forget this weeks renewing of arguably Texas greatest H.S. rivalry Pilot Point vs. Celina. both of these games will show us what everyone really has, but for me, the atmosphere that will be present over in Denton County is unparalleled anywhere in Texas in any classification.

More of a regional issue and I am sure that one is huge for that area of the state.


PNG/Nederland sticks out to me for SE Texas.

GP Carroll is this week... its called the "Battle of the Bridge"

GP, coming off the Sinton win, i dont think will run right over carroll.... carroll by less than a touchdown.

i agree that any discussion on great rivalries is relative to your area of texas. i have lived and actively watched h.s. football in all classifications and areas from the red river to temple (south centex area) and from goldthwaite to tyler. so that gives you an idea of my range of view. the last 30 years of this rivalry, and especially the last 15, are like nothing else i have seen as far as intensity goes.
