they must use the BCS method where you get points for playing 4A schools.. that explains 181. Gainesville (II-3A) (1-0-0) (0-0-0) 37.50

oh nevermind jasper and WO-S arnt ranked too good either

But then how would you explain W-OS being ranked 98th?:D

I don't know what they are using for a formula. Perrtyon is rated 133 and they beat 4a Pampa, and what amounts to a 4a school form Oklahoma. This is :strange" to say the least.

The formula must be based on scrabble...
Zapata must have landed on a triple word score to get to 97 and be ranked #10.

I wish this were the AP poll.

No doubt my man... no doubt!
That poll has very little substance to it.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa......I happen to like it very very much. (Sarcasm) I dunno, alot of misplaced teams...while the 9th is flattering, I think that the only poll I will be minding is the harris and AP poll.

What were these guys smoking? What kinda of formula did they use to figure out those (ahem) Power Ratings??

10. Zapata 97.98 (Way TOO high!!)

65. Liberty Hill 84.33 (They should be in the Top 10)

155. Smithville 56.65 (They haven't won a game since Nov.2001)

176. Port Isabel 45.73 (They should be a Top 25 team)

181. Gainesville 37.50 (They should be a Top 10 team)

After careful study, I can see the logic of it. Follow closesly now: Muleshoe beat two 2A schools, so 2x2 = 4AA. Ok, the combined score was 24+58 = 72 - 0. times 4a = 288AA. Now one of the game occured during Zero week, so do not pass go, collect $200.00, and a win lands on Park Place = 488AA. Pay the $450.00 rent on Park Place, and take away 2 A's since both Friona and Sanford Fritch used to be 3A schools = 38, less this is the 17th day of the season = 21.
This simple and logical calculation correctly ranks Muleshoe in 21st place.
Gainesville would have done much better, but since they started on the 2nd week of the season, there was alread a hotel on Park Place. They were darn lucky to even score a Get Out of Jail Free card.

The dude who runs the site with this poll on it had this to say:

"Thanks for mentioning the power ratings. You may have noticed that I have been low-key about these now for a little while...that's because the "true" ratings won't shake out until about the fourth--and possibly the fifth--week.

Part of the problem we encountered is that we had never before used the power ratings formula for Tex Preps. Now, for the 2005 season...we will have a base to work from.

Anyhow, your point is well noted, but until another couple of games are played, the full listing of all teams by class won't appear on the site.

I apologize that this many games need to go by before they become as accurate and representative as I would like, but again it is because of no previous rankings with our site. This should only be a one-time thing where we don't have rankings to begin every football season.

Thanks!

R.V. "

This is why they look outta wack...!
