Great openner for Cuero tonight. Their Frosh looked impressive with size and athleticism. The first half was close 12-6 but the Gobblers ran off with the win in the second.

On a brighter note the LG jv gave the Gobblers all they could handle in losing 9-8. Credit the Gobbbler defense in a great stop on 4th and 1 foot at the 13 with a minute and 20 on the clock. I would have called for a long count than taken a timeout if we didn't draw the offsides. But the coaches ran an off tackle which looked like a busted play for a loss. Oh well the kids looked terrific. Cuero has some athletes, especially #6 the stud Qb and Db. Good luck to all tomorrow night, it should be a great game.

Cuero's freshman quarterback/db is Parker Schumacher. Little brother of varsity qb Matthew Schumacher. JV quarterback is Corey Scott. First year to play qb. He will come into his own.

What did you think of Stephon Hargrove, our big freshman tailback? He doesn't run all that tough yet but if he hits the open field, there is not a kid in ninth grade anywhere who can catch him. That is the kid I was telling you ran 10.93 100 meters at the end of his 8th grade year.

Yes he was impressive. The Gobblers are loaded for the next few seasons it would appear.
