As far as region I goes the poll looks very good. All of those teams are very good teams. They all had great wins to open the season.

Four of these teams meet in the next several weeks:

Vernon/Wylie
Graham/Decatur

If they are all 4 undefeated that would make some good football watching!

Also watch out for the following region I teams the next couple of weeks:

Iowa Park
Merkel
Sweetwater

IP and Merkel both won and Sweetwater lost a heartbreaker to Cooper who is at #6.

Matthew,

Just because Crandall fell apart, is no reason for you to give Quinlan any love.:p

Decatur not only plays Graham in the coming weeks They also play in a row:
Gainesville (home), then Graham (away), and Wylie (home) That is 3 of the top 10 in the region and doesnt count going to FW Dunbar this week. Talk about a killer schedule!!

We will see how good this Decatur team is after all that.

Let me see if I have this right. . . Wharton is picked by Matt to lose by 28 to El Campo, instead it was only 9. So Matt drops Wharton out of the Region 4 top ten, that makes sense.

I have to give Wharton credit they surprised me....at the moment though I don't know if they can beat any of the 10 teams ahead of them....I'm sure they'll get back on track and eventually find their way into the top 10

West Columbia moved up alot, i like that. But once the playoffs roll around, they will have a tough one agains Cuero, unless Gonzales makes it.

I'm expected Gonzales to make it...

With Edna moving into the district and Goliad moving out, I figured Edna would challenge Gonzales for that third spot, but they just lost to a weak'er' 2A team so there goes that...

Gonzales D1
Cuero and Yoakum D2

So if Columbia and Gonzales do meet, who do you think takes the game, and who do you think wins D1 Region 4?

It's too early in the season to tell who would win that game...

D1 Region 4? I'm stickin' with Sinton...

i mean this in the nicest way possible but we made Lubbock Cooper look a lot better than they really are....we played incredibly bad and we still almost beat them.....dont get me wrong they have an amazing ball club but they shouldnt have beat us like that....

Well, it's looking like we'll be D2...

Edna was supposed to toughin' things up but they're not looking good so far... It looks like it may Be Hallettsville and Gonzales fighting for the third spot, and I'm thinking Gonzales will get it, sending us to D2...

I've said it since relaignment came down...watch out for West Columbia.....and they definatley proved me right by beating Yoakum pretty good...I think I may have been the only one on the board picking the Roughnecks....gotta take a lil credit on that one since Crandall let me down!

Wylie's schedule is just as hard as Decatur's with Greenwood (home), Aledo (home), Vernon (there), Graham (home), and then Decatur (there). I may have the Vernon and Decatur games backwards...but those are the games. Just imagine next year when they have to go to Midland one week and then to Aledo the next...glad I'm not the bus driver!

.
West Columbia...
Coach Mitchell from Sinton mentioned them in his pre-game talk last week.
It got my attention...
.
You know Cuero beat Sinton pretty bad last year? Cuero should be ranked no. 1 in this region Matthew328.

Matthew328 you weren't the only one who picked the Roughnecks. Maybe this win opened peoples eyes a little bit.
