Did Davenport coach Sinton in the day? And was he the one to start using the 'never-ending S'?

Just wondering... At Calhoun he's using the never-ending S for 'Sandcrabs'...

Justa wonderin'...

Coach Davenport did coach in Sinton. His 1st season was the 89-90 season. Coach James Taylor introduced the neverending S to the Pirate Athletic program somewhere around the 84-85 season.

I remeber having it in '86. Taylor caught hell for it then, but now that symbol is known almost all over the state.

James Taylor...i've got a few of his albums.;) I don't even remember what the logo was before...probably a "Jolly Roger" type of thing.
