These are the bees known as killer bees and they are bad. I really didn't think they would be able to get that far up north.

There was a man killed in Big Spring (about 35 miles down I-20 from me) a couple of weeks ago by the "killer bees"!

What's really sad is that he had been hired by an elderly woman to get rid of the bee hive at her house. She was also stung several times, but survived!!

That's just TOO close to home!!

I think (not positive) just about every county in TX has been quarantined because of killer bees. That means a beekeeper may not transfer bees across county lines without proper authorization from state/county officials.

i had to hire a pro to remove a colony a few years ago ... i was gonna just burn it but evidently that agin' the law!!! turned out they were not africanized, just the regular texun variety.

A local pharmacist and his wife really got worked over about a month ago here. She was stung something like 50 times and he took over 100 and had a serious respiratory reaction and it was nip and tuck for a while. The are okay now!

Sending everyone of them to O.K. would not be all THAT bad. In fact , the "Sooner" the better.
Hehehehe

I made a pun......

they are easily exicted by noise like a lawnmower, thats what a friend of mine was doing cutting his yard and they swarmed him he's an x-rattler and can still move pretty good lol. An older lady was cutting her yard several days before and they came at her but her dogs started barking and running towards the swarm that saved her life. She lives 2 doors down from my friend.

* they donot move at night.
