Dirtroad - Dove hunter

Not a football topic but I was a wondering
how are you going about attracting your Dove population this year

1. Mow/brushhog- the sunflowers
2. Have a young son drop a sack of Maize out of the back of the truck on a turn row
( only once a week)
3. Spill some grain on the bank of the stock tank while feeding the catfish

I agree rholl... just need my 2 dogs by my side & I am good to go!! Birds are just a plus!! A beer after hunting just adds to the tip of the ice!

I have never met a hunter that waited till after the hunt to have a cold adult beverage
I have heard of em - but I have never met them

Usually after the hunt is for pitchin washers more cold beverages & bad jokes while the days kill is on the grill

If you're gonna hunt, do it safely (alcohol free) and legally. Instead of "accidentally" spilling grain (baiting) on the ground, just let the goat weed grow.

is baiting dove the same as baiting ducks...you can bait or accidentally spill as long as you don't hunt it for 14 days...right?

I have never heard of someone gettin arrested for mowin sunflowers in Aug.

accidents they happen all the time......

of course no one ever hunts from a pickup either now do they

Cottonwood is between Mesquite Springs and Ft Davis, close to the Middle and a stones throw from Nowhere...about as far away from east texas as you can get and still be in Texas

"Bag Limit" is a term for how many birds you can fit in your huntin' bag. I usually carry a pretty big bag on me.... And 2 more in the truck. JK :D :D :eyetwitch :evilgrin:

what are you guys talking about?????
if they land on a wire, ground or fly anywhere in range
they get shot.....
then one of the young uns goes and picks up the dead bird pulls off the head and starts pluckin feathers....
hunt till the coolers empty or the case of shells runs out which ever comes first
