Some Top Games this week

Here are some thoughts on a few games that catch my eye..

Tatum vs Jefferson: I believe this game is on a Thursday...not sure where but check out Tatum QB Stephen Hodge...he's the real deal! Both teams made it to Round 3 of the playoffs last year...should be a good one in East Texas...give me Tatum by 7

Royse City at Celina: I think we are gonna find out real quick if Royse is for real.....if they can hang around I'll take em seriously...but a win would be HUGE for RC...and there is a chance they could pull the upset...but I'll take Celina by 10

Yoakum at West Columbia: YHS was 8-4 last year...but they'll get a battle in West Columbia's 3A debut......I think the Roughnecks will be one of the surprise teams in 3A....give me West Columbia in an upset by 6

Carrollton Ranchview at Dallas Hillcrest: Ranchview opens with a 4A playoff team from a year ago....we'll find out pretty quick just what the Wolves can do and if they are for real....this one is a toss up


Sweetwater at Lubbock Cooper: are the LC Pirates for real?? They will get a real strong test from Sweetwater traditionally one of the best in West Texas...I like Cooper this year...I'll take em by 4

Those are just a few games that jumped out at me.....anyone with thoughts on these games or any other good ones...let's hear it..IT'S FOOTBALL SEASON!!

Ohh man I totally missed that one! LOL

This game is a rivalry game through and through...throw the records predictions etc out the window...it'll be a war...that being said I like WOS in this one....no particular reasoning on paper the 2 teams seem equal....I like WOS by 5

Another good one I looked past was Pampa vs Perryton....Perryton is highly ranked but do they deserve it? Pampa is a solid 4A squad and playoff veterans....give me the Harvesters from Pampa by 14

I'd be very surprised if Navasota beat Connally by 3 TD's.....Connally gave Jasper all they wanted last year..and there won't be that big of a drop...maybe a slight one..but not that big

I say the Rattlers squeak by on experience in this early season game...

I think BH will come out and score early in this one. Anahuac has to break in a new QB so they will struggle at first. Anahuac's defense on the other hand should be good and give the Eagles problems on offense. I see BH by 2 TD's / 21-7 BH.

Sinton plays Taft this week and is one of the oldest rivalries in the State even though I don't know how many years. They are no longer in the same class or district now. This is the type of game that you could throw out previous records and games. It should be a good one.

waco connally will be a good test for the rattlers...i saw them saturday play waco university...very impressive
i think the rattlers will control the line of scrimmage on both sides and that will be the key to the rattler win...the rattler defense has a few kinks to work out and waco has a little speed advantage, so i'll say....42-28 rattlers

Los Fresnos is a 5A school...but they arent exactly Katy or Southlake Carroll...according to 2 ranking sites I saw they would be somewhere around 90th in Class 3A....PI wins by 2 TD's

The Wildcats from Carrizo Springs will take on Zapata which should be a good early test in Week 0 for both teams. Both have a chance to come out on top of there districts this year.
