5 1/2 minutes left. WOS is up 21-14. Thw WOS chain gang defense has come out in the second half, and is not letting Ozen do anything. There have been numerous sacks of Ozen's QB.

Final score is 21-14 WO-S. The WO-S defense played great in the second half. Any final thoughts? The big game against Jasper is next week.

The defense was great in the second half. Shut down a potent and speedy offense. Several sacs and tackles at and behind the line of scrimmage. And of course the touchdown on the turnover. Great momentum builder to start the season. Still a lot of room for improvement though.

Man, I just got back from the game and all I can say is ... WOW! It was like 2 different defenses out there tonight. In the first half we only forced 2 punts and looked very similar to the way we did against Dayton. In the second half it was a completely different team. Almost like Thompson was still trying different people in the first half because they had some out there at the same time that had been alternating. Whatever happened, it was like night and day. Until Ozens final drive, they had one first down and the Stangs recorded 5 sacks. Until then, we had 0 sacks in the first 1.5 scrimmages. On the final drive, Ozen had 3 first downs but still never penetrated the Mustang 35 yard line. They finished with 4 total FD's in the second half. The defense also scored a TD in the second half, another thing they have yet to do. We definitely saw Mustang defense in the second half. I'm feeling MUCH better...

As for the rest, the JV won 1-0 and only allowed Ozen 2 FD's. The Frosh won 2-1 as well.

I'm assuming you mean because of the weather. Unlike some other areas, we were high and dry -- not a drop of rain in West Orange.

I listened to the scrimmage. It was very entertaining. Coach Thompson made some real good adjustments for the second half. That Beasley is a hoss.:)

Good scrimmage for the defense. The offense still needs some work which is always behind at this point in time.Jasper didn't get to see a lot to work on as for as the offense went IMO.Come to think of it,don't know if thats good or bad.

Well, you essentially only saw one half of work from the offense. After the defense scored and we went up by 7, they went into conservative mode, we didn't throw another pass. They wanted to let the defense win it. I don't agree with it, but Hooks has won with it time and time again.

GUNHO, I wish I were close by to run over to Nederland also. This is going to be a really tough test for Jasper. Hope to make it next week though. :) If the game next week goes acccording to history, you are right. We should expect a war. A friendly war, but war nevertheless! :) It sounds like Jasper and WOS should be pretty evenly matched, but you never know until the teams hit the field.

If you go to Nederland tonight, please give us your objective report. :)
