What are their school colors?

Just wondering... We have these truckers that come into the plant I work at delivering wooden pallets... forget the name of the company, but they're out of Silsbee...

The colors on every truck (I've seen three at a time, and always see different drivers) are brown and red...

Just wondering if those were the school colors...

Oh, well, it has a small stripe of red... may not be for their school colors then...

They're dark maroon and white. Not really that much different that Jasper...

Yeah, a crimson and white - maybe a touch darker than Jasper.

Shouldn't Jasper be the color of Jasper quartz, a reddish stone?

The color of the stone you posted GS#17 looks about right to me. I have seen the time when I couldn't tell Jasper and Sillsbee apart on the football field because they had the same school colors. That was in the old days when uniforms were very plain-jane and no names on the jerseys or helmets.

According to Webster's dictionary, jasper is an opaque cryptocrystalline quartz of any of several colors, especially green.
Also it is the name of a balckish green color.

i know that silsbee has a few plants, i don't know which are still up and running though...kirby, apache, and louisiana pacific(lp) all used to run out of silsbee...the paper mill in evadale has changed hands a few times and i think that affects all of those lumber co's.

Evadale's paper plant used to belong to Temple-Inland. It has been sold off in recent years. I don't think Kirby operates in Silsbee now. I'm not even sure of Kirby's existance anymore.

If they are delivering pallets then they would be from Apache or Acme Skid.
