Saw this link on the WOS site. Thought some of you might enjoy it.

What city is the examiner from?

I was at the 1996 game with a big ole smile on my face. Have seen Jasper lose too many close games (and a few not so close) over the years and that one felt really good.

I wish we would have played in 2002 and 2003 since it was a couple of up years for Jasper.

Seems like the last time I went to a WOS/Jasper game at WOS to open the year it was a long night for the Dogs.

I had never heard of the Examiner until I saw this article.

I don't know what kind of circulation it has, but it's a free (non-subscription) paper. It's fairly political, and even though it calls itself "The Independent Voice of SE Texas," I find it to be very one-sided when it comes to news coverage (other than sports :) )

JasperDog94, the most obvious examples I can think of it being politically one-sided was during the Prop 12 election and the primary election for state representative between Allan Ritter and David Bernsen. They vigorously opposed Prop 12 (as did I, btw) and were extremely pro-Bernsen (which I wasn't). They were not objective in either race, and their coverage was biased to the point of making them a non-credible news source, at least in my eyes.

The Examiner is owned by a law firm in Beaumont, so it uses the "paper" to push its agenda. Although there are a few good people there, like Chad Cooper, it's just a wee step above the Enquirer and has more than a few slimeballs on its staff.

Is it a well known law firm?

When you look at the history, after the first meeting between the two schools, WOS owned Jasper. The last 6 games have been back and forth, so I expect no less from this game.

BTW - It looks like my wife and I will be at the game!

Only a few weeks away... I can't wait!

I'm going to watch the Jasper/Nederland scrimmage the week before our game. Are any of you Bulldog fans going to NED to catch the scrimmage? If so, let me know. :)

News flash!!

The city of West Orange last night passed a three dog per house law. This move will assure WO-S a victory against Jasper, now that they can only bring three players. You would think our on city would have a little more confidence in us.:D ;)

Kidding aside they really did pass that.

Not sure. More than three. It just chaps my hide that I can't go into my back yard without dogs barking at me. It's a friggin farm over there. They have a bunch of cats inside too, and I've seen bird cages outside. At one time had a duck. Yes I DO live within the city limits!

I've got it! Here's what you should do:

Set up a booth in front of your neighbors house and start charging admission for people to come to the petting zoo!:D

That has it's merits... and I get paid too! :D
