The Italy basketball team defeated our so-called "Dream Team" 95-78.

Let's hope that is a wake up call and the team will get together and start playing like they are capable. I think they thought that the rest of the world was going to just lay down for them. If they turn it around and improve their attitude and play like they can play they should win the gold. But it could be that they are a nightmare team this year. :(

they rnt getting paid to play the olympics so what u expect? they just gave half effort instead of what they normally give when u pay them a couple mil...

That is true Sahen. It was on the news last night that Russia is going to pay each gold metal winner $100,000. Talk about incentive.

NBA basketball has become a game of individuals. Fancy moves and crowd pleasing dunks have taken over this leauge. Detroit showed us that playing as a team, they could defeat this type of play. Now, the world is teaching us a lesson! I watched some of this game. Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony were the only ones that played to win. Our outside shooting is terrible, free-throw shooting is bad, but we did look good dunking the ball. The team from Italy were deadly with their outside shooting. They played an outstanding zone defense and passed the ball with great accuracy. We need to learn that winning is more important than showing off. Get rid of the dunk, teach the players how to shoot, and find players that rather win, than pad their stats.
