What is the story on the 2 new guys at Rockdale? Seniors? Juniors? Height, weight, speed, position?

Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both seniors. One came from Denver, Colorado and the other from Corpus Christi. The guy from denver is about 5'5" and the other is around 6'. The 5'5 is a shifty guy and the 6' guy is a reciever. I don't know how good they are. Haven't paid that much attention! I'm trying to learn the offfence.

My oldest son will be in 7th grade this year and is chomping at the bit for their practices to start. They should have a good team also. He just turned 12 and is 5'10" with a size 12 shoe.......but only 130 lbs.........

Old Tiger

How's it going? Could he be a reciever? Welcome to the downlow too! What do you think or what you heard and seen so far?

He's doing us a lot of good. His concepts are easy to understand and he's teaching us what we need to know. It's going good. How is Coach Waters doing with the recievers?

Rumors are that the new kids may be able to contribute. I heard that the RB ran a hand timed sub 4.4 40 yd dash? Any truth to it? Who are the guys working on the 1st team line? back field? Also who are the LB's?

You guys keep pushing hard and I think great things are achievable.........

He's awesome! He's throwing it at us fast, but hey we gotta get it all in! It's easy to learn if you pay attention. Which is what i'm actually doing.

I'm kinda glad I don't play any offense. I get to stand back on individual stuff and sleep during the offensive meetings. :D

Old Tiger

I think he changed it up, he just sent me one.

La Grange
08-03-2004, 03:25 PM
We got in a new guy from California. He is decent, but he is a reciever/ cornerback. Well we throw twice a game, and our cornerbacks are already set so he got some bad luck coming to LG to play.

Old Tiger

lol, is that big guy that you said is a hoss in the weight room on jv or varsity?

Practices are awesome this year, we actually get things done. Instead of last year we'd just condition the whole time maybe learn acouple plays now and then.

WO-S got a transfer from 4A LCM. He started for them as a freshman at tailback. He's a 4.4/4.5 guy himself. Don't know where he's going to play though, we've got a lot coming back but another athlete can't hurt.:D :D

Is he a Soph, this year WOS1?

WOS1

Yes he is. He actually has lived in the WO-S school district all of his life. The story is that he left for LCM after his 8th grade year because his mother was a teacher there. He played on the LCM varsity as a Freshman. His uncle played at WO-S for Coach Thompson and when he came back, his dad decided to get him back in the WO-S program.

Coach Clark is putting a lot on our shoulders really quickly, but everyone is attentive and are picking up everything really well. We don't do as much conditioning as we did before, but we're getting the same results. He emphasizes on a lot of things that were previously ignored and the difference is big. How is Austin doing so far? Hope everything is alright on your end, Olddawg.

Coach Clark is a better coach than coach Creghan ever thought of being. IMO

I am very sure that Coach Clark and the new staff are really great coaches. Coach Creghan did one hell of a job at Rockdale. Know him well. He and his staff had the Tigers in the playoff hunt year in and year out!!!! Changes always bring new ideas, new philosophies, etc. If you are still playing in December then you can talk some trash about the staff from last year. How long has it been since Rockdale has won an outright district title??? Beaten Giddings at Giddings???? Good luck boys!!!

Coach Creghan was a good coach in his own little way. But you'll see the things he missed when we have a good run in the playoffs this year.

Coach Creghan could get me fired up before a game like nobody else ever had.

Old Tiger

Coach Creghan did give a helluva speech
just to go out and run pretty much 10 offensive plays the whole game.

Hey BBDE, glad to hear its all going good for you guys! Austin and the guys are hanging in there just trying to survive the heat. Take care out there!:) :)

The ankle is no problem, but the hamstring has been. It's getting better at each practice it seems like, though. Glad to hear that Austin is doing okay. Good luck in 4A this year.

How many coaches went with Creghan to Hillsboro??? Where did Coach Pipkin end up??? Rockdale running the spread???? Wow!!! Cameron was salty running the wing-t and split 6. Todd Dodge came to town and opened them up, did not make the playoffs either year!!!! I guess running the spread is like the Houston veer back in the day, everyone wants to do it because it is new!!

Old Tiger

I think coach Sundheim and maybe 1 other went with coach Creghan. I do not know where coach Pipkin is going to. He has his house up for sale though. Who are you Johnny Utah? You can send PM if you do not wish to post it publically.
