Hellacious first day of 2 a days

Today felt like hell, cuz of the heat. god it was hot, wasnt it someting around 110 with the heat index. I look like a human apple, i got sunburned so bad, how was everyone elses first day of 2 a days

My mom told me it's supposed to reach 100 tomorrow! Not heat index 100 degrees!

It was hot everywhere. We had a very good turn out with 86 JV and Varsity players. Most of these players were involved in the summer strength and conditioning program, which is now paying off. We also picked up a senior transfer student (all district defensive end from Jacksonville), which was a nice surprise.

we started at 8 am and practiced outside untill about 11:00, then went inside, worked out then meetings, then lunch then back on the field at 1 then practice till 4 then we go home

we use revelutions for our game helmets and normal riddell helmets for practice

Dang!! No wonder you were hot. I think ours is 8:00-12:00 then back at 6:00-8:00!

After today, our schedule is 6:30 to 8:45, then 9:30 to 11:45. We will probably have group meetings afterwards for Varsity players though. We're trying to beat the heat lol.

Geez... That is unreal that some schools have Game Helmets and Practice Helmets...

Our school district isn't poor, but that is the first I have ever heard of a 3A school having game and practice helmets....

Of course, I guess Ranchview isn't your typical 3A school... 4A next alignment or 5A? ;)

i heard from our coaches son that we only had 40 guys on varisty and our jv which are all freshman and former scout team jv from last year had about 30 guys, im not sure exactly how many, but us guys on varsity are thinkin about half of the jv guys will end up quitting, sometime during 2 a days, which really SUCKS!!!, we have to practice right through it, it sucks but atleast we will be used to it, if we have to play with temperatures like that on one of our saturday games

our first practice was from 6:00-9:30 meetings and weightlifting included. Our second practice is from 5:00-8:30 meetings included.

wow, we wouldnt have that many if u combined the past 3 years' numbers, when we first started out as 8th grade our 8th team had 25 players on the team, we won the district championship for cfbisd school district, then last year on jv, we only had about 45 total and we lost about 10 to injuries and eligibility, etc.

no we only had 45 on our roster and only had about 24 people actually get some real playing time,except when we played sachse last year and beat them 61-0 on their homefield, not tyring to brag since it was only jv

That's certainly a dangerous time of day to be practicing football.
