I prefer the 4-3. It is well-suited to protect against the pass and the run.

The 4-4 were you have the two outside linebackers really more like another corner, but they still have to stop the run. Great way to stop the pass and the run is the 4-4 :D .

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the defence that stops the other team?

i like the 4-3 most then probably 4-4. I also like the 3-4.

4-3 is fun for CB's!

4-4 can really be destroyed by the pass unless you have very fast outside line backers i like the 5-2 for run defense but i would say the most well rounded would be the 4-3

I like the 4-3 with the safeties right behind the Lb's to stop the run.

very few schools run a true 4-3 or true 5-2 or a true 4-4... they all have there different variations on where different positions are positioned in the defense

You can run the 4-4 out of the 4-3 all you gotta do is bring a safety in the box.

or you could run a 4-3 with one of the safetys playing as a rover instead of a safety

You can do so many things with the 4-3

thats with any defense on theline with the 4-3 you can have the tackles in 2's 3's or 4's or even 1's on short downs...and butr i mean you can do that with and defense

The best Defense is what best suits your personel....I've seen all sorts of defenses be successful.....in 2001 Everman won the title basically running a 4-2-5 and disguising it extremely well...but in 2002 they went back to more of a 4-3 look......just like offense....you have be flexible and run a D that best fits the available talent...

the 4-4 works fine but i like the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 unless you have a very poor secondary

depends on the offense.. in high school, 5-2 would work against most schools.. but against good passing schools, dime or 3-4 would work

It seems that most 3a teams now days are running the 4-2-5

I agree, the 4-4 rules! It can be very effective against the run especially when the blitz is on.
