Two from La Grange come to mind:

2002 Josh Tieman aTM (track-Discus)
2003 Lance Schramm Texas State (Baseball-catcher)

Both were All District, All Tri-County and made at least one All State team. Schramm did so both ways as TE and DE. Neither one took a football scholarship though.

Sinton had two on our 2001 team, Jason Brittain and Curt Jones. Both are playing college ball now. Jason is at div2 Angelo State, and I forgot where Curt went. Both were very talented linebackers with speed to burn.

Mark Manning the former Burnet defensive end was All-State in 2002. The kids motor never stops running. He is on scholarship at SMU, and is battling for the starting role at fullback. He was a joy to watch.

He was a DT if my memory serves me. La Grange played Forney in the Texas Bowl in Dallas 2000 and I saw him play. He was pretty much handled by the Lep All State guard Josh Chovanec who since has been outstanding as a Powerlifter. He broke the world's record in the junior Olympics this year. He is 6'1' and weighs about 300 all muscle. He could have played college football but powerlifting is what he loves best. He had a couple of nice pancake blocks on Ross in that game. Not to take anything away from Ross, but Chovanec was awesome that night.:)

I think Craig is off to play in Europe. He wasn't drafted this year. :(

Brittain played linebacker in high school but when he arrived at Angelo State he was moved to safety and Jones was moved from DE to LB. If I'm not mistaken Curt is currently playing at Kilgore JC.

Best DE I ever saw play in high school was Monte Reagor from Waxahachie.....he went on to play at Texas Tech and is currently playing for the Indianapolis Colts...that Waxahachie team had a heck of a DE tandem as the other end was Brian Waters who currently plays for the KC Chiefs on the O-Line.....needless to say that Waxahachie team rolled to a 16-0 record in 1992 and won the 4A title.....they also had QB Lamont Moore who went on to play at Baylor and is currently in the AFL....and a TB named Sammie Overton who played at Houston....that team was absolutley loaded!

Here were thier scores from that year

Garland Lakeview W 29-27
at Cleburne W 33-13
Corsicana W 40-6
at Wilmer-Hutchins W 25-0
Lancaster W 40-14
Everman W 28-14
at Ennis W 34-15
at Cedar Hill W 30-16
Red Oak W 21-0
at Midlothian W 68-9
Texarkana Liberty-Eylau W 34-7
Jacksonville W 39-0
Denison W 56-0
Highland Park W 10-9
Lubbock Estacado W 70-6
A&M Consolidated W 28-24
