Ok, this idea has come up before, but we decided at the Meet and Greet that it is a good idea:

I am going to make 2 t-shirts, with an original design (to be determined later) and the point of the whole thing is to send the shirt to a different high school game every week until week 16 and the division II Finals. The game has to be either 3A or 4A. It will be the responsibility of the current holder to make sure the shirt is mailed out on time for the next weeks game...

Whoever takes the shirt to the game must have themselves, and any other DownLow or texAAAAsports junkies sign the shirt and have a picture taken with all of you and the tshirt.

You are not to wear or wash the shirts and we'll see how it looks come December and week 16...

Now this is where you all come in...We need people to pick one game from your teams season and PM me with that date so we can get a tentative schedule...Only one visit allowed per town in the first 11 weeks...we'll have to play it by ear come playoff time...now FOR EXAMPLE: if i take it to a forney game and later on somebody takes it to their teams game and they happen to be playing forney, then thats ok...just dont sign the shirt twice, hopefully it will be running out of room come week 16...

Once you get your date reserved I'll let you know you have it and you'll have to PM me your address so I can write it down and make sure that the person who has the shirt the week before can get it to you...We are prefering that an adult be the one taking care of it, but seeing is how I am taking it to a game, thats not always gonna be possible... :D

Ill get started on the T-shirt and you all start picking a date...hehe, sorry Burnet folks, but I'll be bringing it with me when I make my trip for the game I'll be attending on Sept 24th vs Austin Reagan...:D :D...

jason, instead of just marking the dates "taken", go ahead and put in the game it will be at. Give me Sept.17 for Sinton/Beeville.

Week 0 - WO-S vs Jasper would be a great game to start with. It would also be a good start for the signatures because we should be able to get several from that one.

I've PM'd Pudlugger and asked him to do it, I'm just waiting for his reply. We're going to have to find a place to meet up after the game, though. We'll have at least 4 players in uniform from their respective schools in the picture, which will be cool.

Yeah...but no-one is going to change how Coach V. handles his team. Discipline, Desire, Dedication that is how he has made his program.

We all have to be first class or we really get it on mondays. We have discipline written every were in our locker room, weightroom, and everything else. Even on our shirts under our pads.

Well we have to wear the discipline shirts for the pre-game warm up, we don't wear our pads out there. Usually people change into their underarmour or whatever in the locker room after the warm up. But somepeople still wear their discipline shirts.

I think walking single file back to the locker room is a good thing. The fans can wait till the team showers or gets ready to get on the bus to exchange hugs and high fives. It may seem extreme, but I will take discipline over dancing any day.

After every game last year I crawled the fence up to the stands to talk to him after the game. He has yet to miss one of my games or track meets in football, basketball, or track in the four years that I've been playing. I don't really see anything wrong with going and seeing my biggest fan after the game...

well..a team that stresses discipline like lagrange supposedly does shouldnt have a problem being allowed to go talk to fans after a game and they should be able to control themselves and not dance at mid field.....

Ok, there are still 2 spots available and I've had several requests for them...The dates are October 1 and October 15...a lot of you are sending me PM's that just say 'I'l take this date'...Well, that doesn't help me a whole lot, SO, the first person to send me the 2 teams playing, which date they're playing on, their name/address, and something telling us that they'll take care of the shirt/signatures/group pic/mailing to next weeks recipient will receive the spots...Thanks

i have a question.... is the shirt going to see the same team more than once in a season? say... this is only in example, marlin plays lagrange... and someone from marlin is wearing the shirt... then lagrange plays gilmer or something and someone from gilmer is wearin the shirt... it will have seen la grange twice...

is that going to happen?

ps... i think the shirt SHOULD make it to the valley at least once.

First, I would be delighted to hold the shirt. I just got back from vacation so excuse the delay in responding. Consider Oct 1 a done deal.

Second, LG I don't remember this being the case. After every home game players family and friends can come on the field after the school flag is raised and the band leaves the field. I have fond memories of those moments with my son in victory as well as defeat. I suspect you are referring to away games, even then we could talk to the players at the fence. :confused:
