I just realized in history the word sooner came from Oklahoma during the Oklahoma land rush of 1889. A sooner was someone who tried to sneak across the lines before the race for land in order to get an advantage to get the best land. If they were caught they would either be shot or sent to prison. In other words they were cheating. And say remember how Barry Switzer was caught cheating at Oklahoma. Hmmmmm. Maybe whoever decided that Oklahoma should be called the Oklahoma Sooners was a prophet! :)

No "cheating" needed when all the "talent" wants to play for the better team :D

No, it is the University of Oklahoma with a bunch of Texas boys who want to win....they just can't seem to get it done south of the Red River so they have to go North...:D

Well the Dallas Cowboys did get a great player in Roy Williams who played at OU. You are right there Lep but I just wish the Texas boys would go farther north to Michigan State or Minnesota! :)

i knew what a sooner was and yea ou is basicly Texas athletes they need to stay in-state and play at UNT TCU SMU UT A&M Baylor and Tech and whatever other schools i missed
