Predicted Order of Finish:

1. Atlanta
2. Texarkana Liberty-Eylau
3. Jefferson
4. Daingerfield
5. New Boston
6. Texarkana Pleasant Grove

1. Atlanta Rabbits Starters Returning 3/4 Last Year: 12-4
Key Players: TE/DE Jedrick Peters, DE Cody Phillips, SS Nick Miller
Outlook: The Rabbs were 1-4 and things weren't looking good....then BAM the Rabbits roll to 11 consecutive wins and their first football state title....Peters and Phillips lead a speedy and had hitting D.....the offense will be young and inexperienced but with the speed the seems to live in that town the Rabbits will again be a force....

2. Texarkana Liberty-Eylua Leopards Starters Returning 5/7 Last Year: 5-7
Key Players: WR Josh Wheeler, RB Michael Reed, DL Russell Traylor
Outlook: L-E made their first trip to the playoffs since winning state in 1999 last year and this year's version should be even better....Reed was the sophmore of the year last year in 12-3A....Wheeler is a big targer with deceptive speed....Traylor leads the D...

3. Jefferson Bulldogs Starters Returning 3/6 Last Year: 8-5
Key Players: DE Jared Schumpert, RB Derrick Irving, LB Jamaal Schumpert
Outlook: Jefferson advanced all the way to regional semi-finals before falling to Atlanta 21-0.......the Schumpert's lead a fast Defense....and Irving and WR's Kevin Smith and LaMarcus Nelson give the 'Dawgs a fast offense as well....Line play on both sides of the ball is a question mark....

4. Daingerfield Tigers Starters Returning 1/3 Last Year: 9-2
Key Players: LB Frank Williams, QB/DB Anquanius Frazier, DL CJ Rollins
Outlook: The Blue Tigers usually don't miss the postseason....but with a very young squad, a new coach, and a tough district make things rough in Morris County.....Williams is a great LB and Frazier is a stout on both sides of the ball....Daingerfield was knocked out of the playoffs by Gilmer 43-0......

5. New Boston Lions Starters Returning 4/4 Last Year: 6-4
Key Players: OL Matt Goodsell, OL Wayne Trevino, RB/DB BJ Wade
Outlook: NB had another solid season under Coach Bickham however it could be a down year for the Lions as they'll go very young in 2004.....keep an eye on NB to have a year in 2005 much like what they put together in 2002....

6. Texarkana Pleasant Grove Hawks Starters Returning 4/5 Last Year: 4-6
Key Players: RB Paul McGuire, WR/DB Ben Williams, QB Woody McClendon
Outlook: The Hawks may be the best last place picked team in the state...and could very well challenge near the top of the district....especially with McGuire leading the way as he very well may be the top back in 14-3A......McGuire ran for over 1300 yards and McClendon threw for over 1100.....he has a reliable reciever in Williams also...

Yes Daingerfield will be young, but so will Atlanta and Jefferson. Jefferson lost their only 2 horses in JoJo Rawls and Calvin Dennis, and those 2 were SHUT DOWN by Daingerfield last year. Atlanta graduated just as many contributors as Daingerfield did, but they deserve to on top, because they're the defending champions. Remember in 1998, Daingerfield had a new coach, and they made it to the Finals. So I wouldn't count them out just yet. Liberty Eylau and Pleasant Grove have top players coming back. Just curious as to why Pleasant Grove is in the cellar??? With McGuire and the QB I would think they have a good shot at making the playoffs.
