View Full Version : Probably will miss the Meet & Greet

I had a clutch slipping in my truck, and had it replaced. The shop had it for two days, and when I got it back, the gearshift is all messed up. I'm going to have to put it back in the shop tomorrow morning. I don't think it will be out by the time I would need to leave, so it's looking like I'm not gonna make it to the meet and greet.

That just sucks. I think we should move the meet and greet to Sinton.:D

That wouldn't help, I'm 200 miles north of there.;)

Then let's meet and greet at YOUR house.:D

You just tell them that you have to leave at a certain time and they better have it fixed and fixed right by then.......Ranger Mom said so!!!!

I'll try, but they kept it two days for a job that was supposed to take no more than three hours. I'm not optimistic to say the least.

Okay....then tell them they need to supply you with another vehicle since they can't seem to get yours fixed.

C'mon 66, you are being WAY to nice.

Well, this is what I get for trying to help people. This shop is a tenant of our company, and I was trying to give him some business to help him get going. I'm just looking to keep from getting royally screwed right now.;)

That's a great idea as far as I'm concerned, I've got enough room here to set up 40 or 50 tents, even one slot for another RV, however, I think you'll get some argument from RangerMom. That would be a loooooong trip for her.;)

Ranger Mom drives a Suburban. Anything less than 800 miles is just a Sunday Drive to her.

Your beef would be with my husband, not me!!

He is looking forward to going to Inks Lake...not Lake Buchanan, not LBJ, INKS!!!!

The bad thing about driving my Suburban that far is, I am afraid I could only afford the gas one way, and then 66 would be stuck with me!!:D :D

66, Im sorry to hear about your truck, car trouble is always a pain.
Do you have any other means of travel? I mean if its just a matter of not being able to pull the pit, I have a pit I could trailer out there. It may not be as big as yours, but it would be big enough to cook a lot of burgers on. Let me know if I can help.

No, I have no other transportation, so if the truck can't go, neither can I. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm not real optimistic.

This is really depressing me! (Jason too). :( :(

I have my fingers and toes crossed!:p

(I would STILL insist on having transportation provided for me)

How is your thumb feeling '66? I suggest you try to hitchhike, either that or go buy a moped for a couple hundred dollars and begin your trek. :D Hope your truck gets fixed.

66, you should have called me last night. I would have picked you up on my back down to Sinton last night from Houston. That is, if you could have taken the days off.
I understand though that sometimes when you try to help someone you get burned. I hope that shop fixes their gaffe fast. :(

I didn't get the truck back until about 4:30 this afternoon. I wouldn't have kniown about the problem last night, but thanks for thinking of me.

Hope all of you that get to go have fun! Sorry I can't come this year. We could have talked a little bit about Dawn at Socorro and the CAT! :)

'66,

Don't feel too bad... Looks like I will be working some this weekend, nixing the trip to Inks Lake.

The crazy part about it was, we just bought a Travel Trailer this spring and I was looking forward to being able to get another weekend's use out of it!

Cest la Vie...

I sure hope we have another one at Texas Stadium this year or someplace else,

Hope everyone has a great time. Sure wish I could make it by, but from Iraq, it is just a little far. If anyone that is going gets this before Saturady afternoon, try to stop by the Methodist Church in Burnet and find a lady by the name of Mary and tell here tha BIG19 said HI and that she is missed (be nice everyone, that is my wife you are about to talk about).
