1. Glen Rose Tigers Starters Returning 4/6 Last Year: 7-3
Key Players: QB Justin Feaster, DE Spencer Busch, CB Phillip Rodriguez
Outlook: GR escapes the district with Everman and Kennedale and has a great shot at taking the crown after missing the postseason in 2003.....Feaster threw for close to 2000 yards and 18 TD's and led the Tigers to an upset win over Kennedale last year that ended up being the highlight of the season for Glen Rose....
2. Hillsboro Eagles Starters Returning 3/4 Last Year: 4-6
Key Players: WR/DB Justin Brooks, RB Marshall Thompson, DL/OL Byron Jordan
Outlook: Another escapee out of a brutal district the Eagles move over from 17-3A.......Brooks averaged over 20 yards per catch last year......he'll be a threat on both sides of the ball as he had 6 INT's last year....Hillsboro likely will field the fastest team in 8-3A...
3. West Trojans Starters Returning 5/6 Last Year: 3-7
Key Players: RB/DB Aaron Rieger, QB Ryon Willis, LB Nick Mocio
Outlook: West is another refugee from 17-3A....the Trojans will be great on both lines...but green at the skill positions....stop at the Czech Stop...the kolaches are GREAT!
4. Comanche Indians Starters Returning 4/4 Last Year: 4-6
Key Players: LB Jeremy Holland, QB Chayden Fiest, WR/DB Lane Dudley
Outlook: Comanche moves in from 5-3A were they struggled after 3 consecutive playoff trips.....Holland was 1st team all-district in 5-3A...
5. Venus Bulldogs Starters Returning 0/1 Last Year: 7-4
Key Players: LB Joseph Oliver, OL Lamar Houston, DE Leo Rogers
Outlook: The Miracle Worker Carlous Stone did it again last year...taking lowly Venus and turning them into a playoff team...Venus has only been to the playoffs 3 times...1945, 1989 and 2003..but losing 21 starters hurts the Bulldogs chances this year....Venus and Glen Rose are the only 2 teams left from last year's 8-3A....
6. Whitney Wildcats Starters Returning 6/6 Last Year: 1-9
Key Players: WR Joe Brown, DE Dustin Gillman, RB Shane Metcalf
Outlook: Whitney is 3-37 the past 4 years and things don't look to get much better..however moving into an easier loop could help the Wildcats improve the win total....
