My gosh...I am about to die of a heat stroke.

It is 103° right now and it's been up to 105° . The forecast shows 105° for tomorrow too!

My pool feels like a hot tub!!

RM,

Since I am now the 3adownlow racist, I guess I will say you are only hot because you were born in Germany:D

Man, I think it's too cloudy and wet around here to get hot. Houston's avg annual rainfall is about 24 inches. We're at 47 so far. We had 18 inches in June alone. If we got a hurricane right now, there wouldn't be anything standing. Doesn't look like it's gonna let up very soon either.

66, I'd say you've got Houston mixed up with some other place, (Sinton?, maybe?). Houston's average annual rainfall is it least twice that. Probably more like 50 - 52 inches.

Just reported what they said on the six o'clock news. But, perhaps they were talking about the first six months of the year.

I was just trying to see what Jasper's average annual rainfall was, but closest I could get was Beaumont on the noaa.gov web site for climate facts. Beaumont's average is 58 inches per year. Houston would not be a lot different. Did find out it was 94 degrees here today with a heat index of 107 degrees. The humidity is 110%. You can hardly breathe outside. We've also had about 20 inches of rain in June. Ugh!

Ranger Mom, the heat won't hurt you too bad at the M&G at Inks, but the humidity will certainly take it's toll!!! But, it's much more humid down in ole 66's country.

Well, up here in the flatland...the land of many feedlots (and the stink that goes with it) it has been around 78 (at the hottest point) during the day and at night we sit outside with the neighbors in our hoodies and sweatpants...it is around 50. They keep telling me it will get hot and this is not normal...it was around 90 today, not bad at all. The "locals" said the humidity was "awful"...I guess the need to go down to Texas to really "feel" the humidity because I thought there was no humidity today. A storm came through around 6 tonight and things are really cool now...come up and visit RM...they can't open the swimming pool in town because it has been too cool.

RM, it is 9:00 am in Iraq and it is already 95 degrees on it's way up to 107ish. I have been here a week and the high has been 110 with 10 mph winds. Does not make for a fun walk around this area. I guess there are a couple of good things though, the sand is very fine, not like on the Tx coast and does not sting when it is blown around, and there is very little humidity in the air so if feels more like El Paso. So I tell eveyone from Texas, that I meet, just to think of themselves there and they won't be so homesick.....

FYI, it is around 5:00 in the evening and it is still 106 here. Anyone want to trade locations?

Hey Big19....it is great to hear from you!

I think I will stay put for the time being. I can complain about the heat, but then again, I can always go back into my nice cool house.

You are in my prayers!
