3A Downlow Homepage contest

We'd like to get another homepage going. So, between now and the start of the season, we're going to give you computer gurus out there a chance to design us a whiz bang homepage. There won't be any compensation in it, but I think we can swing an official acknowledgement for the designer on the new homepage.
What we're looking for is something similar to our old homepage, but modern and eye-catching. We want a page to post links to other sites, maybe a page for the team mascots like we had, and possibly regional pages as well as district pages. Purpose of these is mostly for schedules and such.

So, see what you can do, and we'll post something later where to submit.

Actually, I don't think we care about the format as long as it's fairly secure and maybe easy to use for admins. I don't know all that much about it myself. We will have to host the new homepage on our own server to keep from incurring any more expenses. Maybe we can get our webmaster to suggest one or the other.

Wow, I have a lot of faith in Kyle to come up with a good one. If he can create all of those signatures like that, he can surely create a webpage. :thumbsup:

I heard back from the webmaster, and he prefers basic html. Once your designs are ready, you can compress them and email them to him. We will then evaluate and choose a winner. When you are ready to send one, pm me and I'll tell you where to send it.

I think i could come up with something that yall are looking for, and id keep it updated......the old page(when it was still up) had pictures from two seasons ago i think. But Kyle....hey man....if you'll supply the buttons and pics and stuff....ill do the HTML....you can leave me an email at my site.

I agree, we don't want stuff that flashes or giant pictures and such. We need to respect those that use dial-up and not make it difficult for them.

I can make a pretty nifty page/pages on geocities but i don't know how to get it to another site or whatever

LOL, I don't know how to do that either. All I know is it has to be compressed in a zipfile to email.

I used to could slap a page together rather quickly...

I actually still have a program called 'dreamweaver' from my Web Design class in college...

Just forgot how to do everything...

But I'm sure it could all come back to me.... nahhh

I have dreamweaver to, but I went the simple way and used Netscape Composer

I forgot how to do it, but I was making one in my web design class...

An image map of Texas... I pretty much found all of the teams in Region one and two and drew a line between them, then R2 and 3 and drew a line there, than 3 and 4 and the picture of Texas was separated into four clickable regions...

Then in each regions I planned on doing the same with the districts...
