Been hearing all the rumors the last two days, but now its official. Kevin Flanigan has accepted the Athletic Director/Head Football position at 4A Crosby. He will be missed at Orangefield, but I'm very happy for him and his family. He is a very good coach that gets everything out of his players. He took a team this past season that wasn't as talented as half the teams they played and got them to within 3 points of going to the 3rd round of the playoffs for the first time in school history. He will do well in Crosby.

Any coaches out there...we need a good one. Flanigan beat out ex-LaMarque and A&M coach Allan Waddell for the Crosby job. Coach Waddell ever been to Orangefield?

Please no. We have seen enough of Weddell here at WO-S

One guy that is available is former coach Mark Foreman. I know that his record during his previous stint at OF wasn't so hot and really if I had my preference, I would like to see him coaching defensive backs at WO-S again. But he is available.

I'm not sure how "available" he is, grad. Have you heard anything? I've heard some relatively positive stuff on the home front.

92, I hear different things on different days. I hear he is in, then I hear that he is not.

Well, I hate to see Flanigan leave, but good luck to him. He is a great coach. He will do well at Crosby. The thing that sucks about being from a small school, is it's hard to keep good coaches. If a coach comes to OF and has some success, then they usually leave for bigger and better things. I just hope we get a good coach who plans on staying for more than three years.

Coach Flanigan is truly a class act. I am sorry that OF is losing him. He did so much to get things rolling at OF and I know he will be missed...
