UA Sports Information- Friday, June 25, 2004 ---
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas will host former Southwest Conference rival Texas in a nationally televised primetime showdown on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 7:45 p.m. CT at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. ESPN will air the Razorbacks and Longhorns as the second game of a doubleheader following a telecast of Georgia at South Carolina earlier in the evening.
The matchup will mark the first time since 1991 that the two schools have met on the gridiron in the state of Arkansas. The last time Texas played in Fayetteville was in 1989.
The two schools have played twice since Arkansas left the SWC following the 1991 season. Arkansas posted a 27-6 win over Texas in the 2000 Southwestern Bell Cotton Bowl. Last season, the Hogs scored a 38-28 victory over the Longhorns in Austin, Texas.
Arkansas is already slated to appear on CBS Sports when it hosts LSU at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Ark., on Nov. 26, at 1:30 p.m. CT. Other television arrangements will be announced as they are finalized.
